Mr C thing is when was the last time we played good footie ? We actually played really good footie for a while in Di Matteo's second season but he was quickly sacked.

Before that you'd have to go back to Carlo's first season for some good footie. In short we're certainly not famed for our good footie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Our football under Di Matteo with Mata, Oscar and Hazard was some of the best football I've ever seen us play. You'd probably have to go back to the late 90s to see anything close to that.

To be honest, playing-style wise, I never expected much from our team once Mourinho came back. He's always been known as more of a pragmatist so free-flowing football was never really a certainty. I was fine with that as long as we got results but when the results go sour there's not really much to enjoy.

Even in the early 2000s and early/mid 90s when we weren't challenging for the title, we still played better football than we are now. What makes it most depressing is that we have a team full of talented players - we really should be putting on more of a show than we have been but that's the sacrifice you make when you have Jose as your manager.

I've given up hope of seeing us win again under José

Honestly want him gone before the Villa game

And Superb, I agree that it could get even worse under another manager but at the moment I'm not really sure where Mourinho wants to take us.

We haven't evolved our play and our team is still light of youth players. If we aren't winning then there's not really much we get out of it. That's the problem about making winning your sole aim - all the other things fans enjoy about football (exciting attacking football and local lads brought up through the ranks) get pushed aside.

Another manager is exactly what you need.

Jose publicly humiliated Eva, a highly succesful and popular member of staff.

Publicly criticises his players and makes a jackass of himself and therefore his club during TV interviews.

Big Sam could get a lot more out of a squad with that much quality at the moment and I'm not joking.

The problem was the summer transfer window, our business inadequate and now we're paying the price for it. Gonna be a mission to even finish top 4 now.

How has pedro been playing?
Looked like we were signing him at one point but wasn't to be and we ended up spending a fortune on a youngster instead

mini I hear what you're saying about us fans not getting anything out of it if we don't win, but there are no guarantees that we're going to play any better under another manager, let alone get back to winning ways.

The problem is with the players, they've been unbelievably awful this season and José must be just as baffled as the rest of us as to what's going wrong with them.

True - there's no guarantee but there rarely is in football. In any case, I'm not calling for Jose's head just yet but equally I wouldn't be devastated if he left.

Regarding our performances, I've got a suggestion... Drop that lump Ivanovic and play Azpi in his proper position. If Baba is so bad defensively that Jose is willing to risk his job playing Brana then what was the point in buying him??

Also, Fabregas is offering little in the middle of the park - now might be a good time to make use of youth in RLC.

Our attack is stagnant but it's not like it's clicked all too regularly while Jose has been in charge. Hazard mostly dragged the attack along and now that he's going through a rough patch we look decidedly ordinary. Maybe an attack coach wouldn't go amiss ...

I agree the players can be blamed to a certain extent.....BUT who has been picking the same right back and cm when a blind man and his dog can see they have been performing badly week in and week out? And then continues to pull off our best player every game with sometimes over 30 mins left, and then leaves on the shower of sh..... that is ivan and cesc. I agree some blame should be layed at the feet of players like Hazard, Oscar and even Costa, but at least help them out by picking players on form. The choosing player part is what jose is payed to do yet he has now repeated the same mistake now what half a dozen times at least? Upto 3 times no worries can just be form etc but my god how is ivan still playing? I would be happy even to give hazard a rest, how bad could it be with say pedro, oscar and willian, rambo and matic, or yeh go with the kids rlc or kennedy they literally cannot do any worse

Superb , I am sure that Jose is not as baffled as the rest of us ! I am sure that he has a very good idea what the problem is ,if he doesn,t have an idea ,then he Most certainly is not doing his job properly.Consequently it,s about time he pulled his finger out and started dropping the guys who are not performing to their work remit .He has got to shout out loud ,and be prepared to shame publicly the under performers .He must know that his reputation as well as his job are on the line .
Have just watched the rugby as well and am in a vile mood after a sheet day !

Agree that Ivanovic should have been dropped a while back but that alone won't make our players start playing well.

Hazard has also been awful recently but he's a fan favourite so escapes criticism.

It's more than just which players get picked though as for the most part they've all been crap with the exception of only one or two of them and they simply haven't turned up this season.

This is no lie, but I actually think I'm enjoying our current predicament more than a procession league title runproper old school masochistic Chelsea supporter me. Love seeing us keeping it real
----------------------------------------------------------------------

think you lost,

where were we before he returned

we won the league last yr, ffs

am not just a fan of mourinho, i would also say the same if it were another manager, said the same for ancelotti

Our club is not defined by Jose Mourinho. No he's not our Shankly or Ferguson, and people keep saying we couldn't get anyone better. I'm pretty sure most managers would match what Jose has done in his second stint at Chelsea. Hell, most managers would at least match what he's done at Madrid. And I certainly don't think most managers would get 8 points from 8 games and 4 losses in 8 with this team. People who want to keep him for the sake of keeping him (ie LO said he's fed up of the 'tag' we have of sacking managers) need to show some backbone at some point.

I do think he deserves to see this season out but fecking hell Chelsea can and will live just because Jose Mourinho isn't the manager.

Nobody is saying we can't live without Jose.

We've won many trophies without him over the last 20 years or so including a Champions League and Premiership title.

The point is that he's definitely the best manager we've ever had and if it's that easy to win a title then why did all our previous managers (apart from Carlo) fail so badly in that regard ?

If we want any continuity then we have to stick with the manager even when the team goes through really bad times like we are now.

If we don't start to back our managers when the chips are down then we're doomed to be stuck in a viscous circle where we constantly change manager every season and any continuity goes out the window.

These are mourinho's players don't forget superb. This is his team and It's alarming how apparently he's lost the dressing room. There should be no reason to lose a dressing room after with winning the league so begs the question, What is he doing?

I just think he's been a grumpy so and so since he's come back and we're now seeing the true effects of it.

Mr C I don't claim to have inside knowledge mate but my eyes show me that the players have been hopeless and the players should still be putting in 100% effort even if they suddenly decided that they hate the manager for whatever reason.

I'm not saying that they do though and I've got no idea what's happening in the Chelsea dressing room. The problem seems to lie much deeper than with the manager though and the players have been crap since the beginning of preseason.

Exactly. He move the players doesn't suit his style and created own identity. Second half even with bad style, we won games. This is not happening for last few months. We got players with talent, but no leaders on pitch. JM might expected this with Ivan handing over the arm band, but its not working.
