I ilke him, good, inventive midfielder/attacker although a little waek on the final pass to be honest.
One of the few Clarets in recent times who could make things happen. I hope he has a great two or three years with you.
He as been a good player, best years are probablt 2-3 years ago. Scored the winning goal at Wembley and always seems to do well in the big match.
Probably time for him to move on, be re energised and give 2 good years.
Many thanks Wade for all you have done over the 6 years at Turf.
Welcome back Eddie, Wade goes with my best wishes. Has been a good player for us, will be sorry to see him go.
A little bit off subject, but nice to see Southamptons improved bid for J Rod was rejected. Always had a feeling he would still be a Claret when the transfer window closed. According to the LET looks like we are close to signing Ryan Shotton from Stoke on loan.
Howdy Dingles! Is everybody happy with the transfer period.
Yes. Eagles wanted Prem football, good luck to him.
Mears wanted, well, whatever he wanted and good luck to him, too....
Wade E. served us brilliantly and should have a good two or three good seasons, no doubt playing a blinder against us fairly soon.
Fox, all £1.8 million pounds of him, couldn't be kept on once that price had been offered.
Ings, Stanislas and Hines all look capable of offering us more speed and firepower.
Mee and Trippier have given us the extra bit of strength and stability we needed so, yes, all in all some very good business with not a lot paid out.
You happy with yours ?
mixed feelings,Dann will be a great buy I think. The yak from Everton wont, wasted dosh in my opinion. The rest well the jury is out on them.
Well thats the way it should be everybody happy till next saturday comes around, then maybe we arnt so happy. This International break is boring!
Eddie, I`m bored of fishing and the International break. Just read in LET that we are getting Eaves from Bolton on loan next week. Apparently the loan was agreed as part of the Eagles/Mears deal in July. Questions are.....will Coyle/Gartside keep there word and why did we not get him in July ? Finally do we want him ?
I think OC is a man of his word and a fine manager!
Apparently Eaves is injured and will join Burnley when he is fit .
alls well that ends well then.
Not sure it does Star. Why would we want to sign a player who never started a game with Oldham ( 15 subs and 0 goals) and has never played for Bolton ? Very strange.
Well the transfer circus moves in strange ways! Its like a kinda madness that affects every club and fan alike, then when the window closes you think what was all the fuss about in the first place.Im off to bed now as there is nothing on tv .
FCBurnley - Eaves is 19 and was 18 when we signed him from Oldham. That's why he had never started a competitive game. We signed him when he scored a hat-trick against us in a pre-season friendly... he was on the cusp of Oldham's first team at age 18. Very few players get to play PL football in their teens, especially up front.
Eaves is a target man who is making great progress but needs competitive football. I doubt very much there would be a loan fee, his wages will be pretty low, so I don't really see what Burnley have to lose.
Cork, Cahill, they were young relatively inexperienced players when we signed them and what signings they turned out to be. Would there be doubts if he was from any other club? Might turn out to be a great signing. Seems to fit the current profile.
We can't really go wrong. The lad can't help which club he belongs to and we might need the cover. He seems a bit young and raw even by Eddie's standards.
He's been scoring goals for fun in our reserves where we often come up against ManU & L'pool who field 11 internationals at some age level.
Before we signed him, he was being scouted by ManU, Everton & L'pool.
Alright Bricks, sounds like a decent prospect. Are you happy with the comings and goings at the Reebok?
Hi wrexham.
Very happy all in all.
We've definately improved the depth of the squad as we have offloaded 4/5 players who barely or didn't feature last season, with players who will.
Also pleasing was the young age and potential of most of our signings.
Jury is still out on Eagles but was a necessary purchase after Chung Yong being sidelined for the season and a pity Mears broke his leg in pre-season.
You happy with your signings?
Pity you couldn't get Jack Cork on a permanent deal.
Er, Wrexham, Eddie, are we saying that Eaves is better than J Rod, Austin and Patto ? Unless he is going to play in our first team, OR we have the option to buy him for the future, then he might as well stay at Bolton and play in their reserves rather than ours. Not sure we are being told the whole truth on this one.
If we want a back up for injuries then surely we need a tried and tested experienced player. Eaves is hardly a Sturridge or a Wilshere is he ?
I think this is going to be a strange season for all the lancs clubs(Burnley Yorkshire. with all the comings and goings .Our so called rivals at the Reebok might even excel themselves this season ,well we will have to wait and see,one last thing I always rated Eagles as a very good player!
Fair point, FC, and wecome back btw. Assuming he is any good and his record and the interest shown from the big clubs, he must be worth a punt as back up or to provide different options.
If he's a success, it may well be that we can get him permanently or are Bolton after us grooming him to take over from Kevin Davies. You're right, though, we shouldn't get ourselves into a position where we have to depend on a player like this performing well.
Eddie it cant do any harm as he is a young lad and its better to be in your division as a starter than thrown in at the deep end in the premier where its too fast and hard and the young players dissapear into obscurity for some foreign import.Burnley have always done well with young talent going way back to the time of Lord and Potts!
