Surely it would be better to pay bill's before creditors issue court proceedings? and cheaper, think of the extra admin'?
I just wish Radio Nottingham or the NEP had he bottle to question the club about the situation.
Yes, the media should really believing for serious answers on this. They may be trying but could be being stonewalled by Fawaz. I don't see many other clubs out there regularly being named in similar circumstances. It gives an impression that they are very lackadaisical over their financial dealings and continually fail to learn from past mistakes. Worrying when fans are hopeful of exiting the embargo in the summer that it still appears the financial side of things is still so hit and miss.
There are quite a few Fawaz apologists who state that Forest were at the High Court more regularly under the Doughty regime as if that is something to be proud of?!
I would suggest Doughty would have had mitigating circumstances as he took over the club when it was on its knees. Fawaz got the club for a song in relatively good financial nick. The £60m+ debt has been built up by him and his crew. Can't blame any previous regime for that.
It's been clarified we never went to high court back then although we did have serious financial troubles. What these people forget/ignore is that we were in financial trouble when Doughty reluctantly stepped in. He also wasn't sole owner at that point, so it's not as straight forward as putting substantial sums of money in to balance. Others share holders could easily get a beneficial deal so concessions were expected.
So frankly I found the whole thing disrespectful and even if true, a pathetic way to try and justify our current situation. I just don't get how sone can keep going telling him to ignore haters and what an amazing job he's doing (almost exact wording).
Frankly between the defenders and owner, we're dragging the club through the mud, saddling debt, not progressing, splitting the fans and defecating on our history/legends.
Fawaz out
Fawaz and Nigel(RIP) What a rotten pair of b4stards, hey. Fancy pumping millions of their own personal wealth into the club and not having us in the prem top six, pair of clowns.
"Fawaz got the club for a song in relatively good financial nick" Will, every season we were top of the table for debt/loses.
Let's look at a few facts Will! Fawaz paid £20 mil for the club, took on the £11 mil loss we were going to make, had no choice but to spend on players(we could not field a starting 11). I would say that is £35+ mil of the debt from the start.
Fawaz bought the club at the wrong time, with regards to FFP.
I for one appreciate both men for what they are/were trying/tried to do for the club.
I will join in with the bedwetters, flappers and whiners, once there is a real threat of the club being in any real danger.
If you can't grasp why people are objecting to the current owners then fair enough. There are plenty of reason though highlighted by the last two slip ups in the last few days. High court yet again, late wages and a local supplier having a go.
None of this matters of course, it's not like we've had nearly four years of it. But it's ok, they've pumped in millions largely ineffectively. Who cares if we're not progressing and the clubs name is dragged through the mud? He seems enthuastic in an attention seeking way.
You're named after one of the family and have a dig about Derby's owner in your name FGS relating to issuers you'd probably dismiss if it was Fawaz behind them.
Ray, I can grasp why people are objecting to the current owners! Some are bedwetters, whiners, flappers, derby fans, think that twitter makes the a celebrity, boring ***t's with twitter parody accounts etc etc etc.
Please stop with this laughing stock/dragged through the mud bollox!
Apart from our own fans and Derby fans, nobody really pays much attention to the going's on at Forest.
Our name is being dragged through the mud, we're regularly getting pulled up for not paying bills and even paid the players late for the 3 time in the last twelve months. If you have convinced yourself that's not an issue ask yourself where the wage leak come from. Plus it puts off people dealing with us, I'm not saying we'll be shunned but in terms of other clubs, agents, suppliers and even sponsors, it will have an effect in an already difficult situation. It has nothing to do with what Derby fans etc think, it's about the health of the club.
You can call people who aren't happy with our ownership all the names you want, it just makes you look daft
Just to clarify, I haven't wet the bed since I was about 9.
Ever heard the one about Nero and his fiddle?...
Omar, I too appreciate the money Fawaz has lavished on the club. I'm just frustrated as hell that he seems content to let the ship sail on listlessly whilst he feasts below deck on the adulation of his fawning fans. I'll eat my own faeces if Forest achieve anything under the regime as it is currently set up and operating.
I'll always be a Red but there's only so much grinning and bearing it I can take!
We can't attract a sponsor surely that speaks volumes?
FFP seems to be applied very harshly to us, compared to other clubs.
We're in a very precarious position, I hope those fan's who always think that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence don't get rid of Doug.
No manager that considers himself to be a 'Premiership Manager' is coming to Forest while Fawaz is pulling the strings.
I can't fault DF's enthusiasm for the job. He has worked under some pretty challenging conditions to be fair. I was a bit too harsh on him after the Brizzle game. It was an awful performance but when you're working with a squad packed with frees and loans there will be times when they fall short in fairness as the quality and commitment isn't quite there compared to established players under longer term contracts*.

We can attract a sponsor! Where do you people get this bollox from?
John Pye was our last shirt sponsor, FACT.
John Pye paid the highest fee we have ever recieved for a shirt sponsor, FACT.
Adam Pye is a big Forest fan and wanted to sponsor the shirt again but accepted that Fawaz could use the shirt sponsorship to put more money into the club.
John Pye agreed to put money into the club by increasing their sponsorship in other areas of the ground, dugout, tunnel etc etc etc, FACT.
Al jazeera were showing our home games live in the first season Fawaz sponsored our shirts.
FACT is, Fawaz wanted to use the shirt sponsorship as a way to pump more money into the club, no need for the "We can't attract a sponsor" bullsshit is there?
Anyhow well played to Dougie and the boy's tonight!
You do realise that in the past two sets of accounts we've had to convert some of this sponsorship money to loans right?
I heard that too, Ray. So this FAWAZ sponsorship deal isn't the great money spinner we were led to believe? Oh nevermind, lets all go and get our photo taken with him...
I just wish he would be straight with the fans and let us know what he intends to do from this position forwards. What are his plans should the embargo be lifted? It's ok throwing little gestures around like bussing fans up to Burnley but he can't pull the wool over everyone's eyes.
The fans are voting with their feet. 16000 crowd last night meant that even some season ticket holders didn't bother going. The atmosphere at the last two games I went to was as poor as I can remember down at the CG. You can put a fair proportion of that down to the fact that the team is as bland as they come but I reckon fans are at least as exasperated with the regime and the listless way in which the club has gone about his business.
I am bored of the club being Fawaz's plaything now. Progress is not even visible on the horizon. It's all done in a wing and a prayer.
We also seem to go several games into each season before reverting back to Fawaz sponsoring the kit
But if John Pye could pay a record fee to sponsor Forest (and couldn't then turn the sponsorship into a loan you'd have thought?...) why wouldn't Forest stick with them? Third season in and Fawaz has sponsored them every time.
Exactly, I'd love to know the source of the interest and the comparable figures to back it up

That will most likely be down to the FL. I bet you a pound to a pinch of sshit that whatever amount of the sponsorship the FL have deemed acceptable is still higher than what any sponsor would be willing to pay.
Did you not watch the Adam Pye interviews? Do you prefer to listen to clowns on twitter?
Let me correct that for you

That will most likely be down to the FL. I totally assume whatever amount of the sponsorship the FL have deemed acceptable is still higher than what any sponsor would be willing to pay Forest under Fawaz.

I make up my own mind about things thank you. The fact you seem to be such a staunch supporter of Fawaz makes me question your ability to acknowledge the obvious issues that are there, so the fact your questioning mine is a tad ironic
All right! Let's all agree that Fawaz is turning away good money because of his ego. We can all pretend that John Pye never sponsored the shirt whilst Fawaz was owner.
That alright for you Ray
Might be wrong but wasn't the John Pye shirt sponsorship deal arranged before Fawaz brought the club?...
Spot on Will.
For me there is many reasons to be concerned about the running of the club and frankly after nearly four seasons of it, I really don't think it will change or we'll progress unless we have a large slice of fortune. In my opinion he's more interested in getting fan adulation than taking a step back to get people in to help make a sustainable and progressive club.
