With respect to the OP, you have to have been an Arsenal supporter for a few years following every game to really understand the frustration.
Its not about losing to Watford or Barca, its about so many things that add up over the last 10+ years.
This squad with the finances at the club and the way the league has gone this year, should be at least a few points off top, not 8. with it likely being 11 tonight.
The only constant in the failures is the manager. He has to take the blame and after the shambles of this season (including losing the first 3 CL group games!! and having a really favourable route to the FA cup semi-final) he should resign.
At any other PL club he would likely be sacked. 2 FA cups saved him. The FA cup wont save him this year.
having said all that he will certainly be the manager next season. no doubt.
Arsenal under wenger is like being stuck in a desert and seeing a hazy oasis in the distance. Youre in autumn and youre thinking to yourself 'maybe this season is our season, surely this season is our season', but you never get here, you just carry on walking through that desert.

Says something when even a spurs fan thinks things have been going over the top
The conduct of Arsenal fans has been a disgrace and has confirmed what i realised a few years back: we have by far the worst fans in the country if not europe. Its truly embarasssing. All the abuse ive been getting from work or my spurs mates hasnt been in relation to losing a game but clips of fans fighting or an idiot burning an arsenal shirt.
Its truly embarassing to be an arsenal fan right now. No clubs fans behave llike this. Even united who had decades of success but now cant even qualify for champions league or win a trophy are acting with 100x more decorum than our idiot fans.

or is it saying something more when even our bitterest rivals want us to keep our apparently world class and most awesome manager ?
I think Champagne Charlie has hit the nail on the head - the reaction Arsene and the board is getting now is not about the present situation but about the sum of past disappointments.
This might be why I and other fans are confused, losing to Barca in a hard fought game and being unlucky against Watford is not enough to be sacked. Nor is sitting 3rd in the league. But many seasons of disappointment can add up, I understand that.
Taking away this emotional element though, it is still hard to see an alternative which is both an improvement and a realistic target. Bilic is not proven enough, and I'm not sure Lukaku is not a realistic signing.
Maybe scouting needs to improve to sign the next Dele Alli, or the academy should do better to produce the next Harry Kane, but these are surely out of Wenger's control?
The thing that sticks out to me is that this debate occurs every single season, and every single season Wenger proves yet again why he is a great manager. Replacing him with Bilic or another flavour of the month will not lead to positive change.
Wenger's not going to be sacked midseason, so get behind him because the pressure you lot put on him can only be detrimental!
This is called reverse-WUMming

Don't think it's fair to lump other fans into this confusion tbh, don't think anyone else thinks we want him gone just because of the Watford & Barca games!
