In fairness Robb's probably been going crazy about the result all over our board, just read it as some kind of tribute to Robb its a bit less insulting to Liverpool then.

Yeah it was a fantastic achievement and showed the quality of the PL when the team placed 8th can come back like that to beat the second best team in Germany.

Add that to Man City knocking PSG out which was also another great result.

Can we now accept that the PL isn't as poor as people think?

As for ever seeing a result like that, I can say I've seen Leicester be 3-0 up at Wolves at half time only to lose 4-3 and last season we we 2-0 down against United and then 3-1 down and came back to win 5-3 so yes it has happened before but still amazing.

99 is a bit different to last night on that night we actually won the champions league, Liverpool got through to the semi finals last night they haven't won the trophy yet.

If Lovren's header had hit the post instead of going in then Werder Bremen could beat West Brom, but because he was more accurate, Swansea would beat Schalke.

'99 was the treble.

So far Liverpool have made a Europa league semi final.

There is just a small difference there.

The reaction to last nights game reminds me of the reaction to their 3-2 win against City two years ago we all know how that ended.

It was a miracle in that I actually enjoyed a Europa league game, I usually find the competition incredibly dull.

Bundesliga is an extremely weak league. Teams like Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen would struggle to stay up in premierleague. Its no suprise Hernandez is banging in so many goals in Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen as the defences are so bad their. Every Bundesliga game their is tons of shots on target for and against. The teams who qualify in CL usually have goalkeepers making tons of saves you expect teams who are getting relegated in the premierleague to be making.

I would put Bayer Leverkusen on similar level to Aston Villa in quality. I remember we also played Schalke 04 in 2010/11 season and the media boasted about Schalke 04 amazing home record and the fact they knocked out european champions expecting us to lose away but go through overall Schalke 04 were probably the worst team we faced that season in all competitions bar Neur. I thought it was a joke a team could be that bad It finished 6-1 on aggregate but in truth it could easily have finished 16-1 on aggregate.

Hernandez must be thinking Bundesliga is an extremely weak league. I would expect Rashford to score 30 goals a season in Bundesliga if he played at least 30 games as thats how easy Bundesliga is. Only german side with real top quality is Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg knocked us out but got battered home and away by us but due to high efficiency went through but even newly promoted teams give us better games then Wolfsburg did.

For people like the OP who are crying because people are making a big deal about Klopp masterminding a comeback, you have only got yourselves to blame for jacking off to Klopp over the past few years before he joined Liverpool.

He has a similar CV to Lafa when he joined the scousers, and no one outside Liverpool jacked off to Lafa during his time at Valencia so why were you all making out the Klipp was the greatest thing since sliced bread when he was at Dortmund

7th placed Man Utd beat 4th placed Bayer Leverkusen 9-2 over 2 games with Moyes in charge and even then we were very wasteful missed about 8 easy chances over the 2 games and even led home and away to Bayern Munich before collapsing at end. Bundesliga teams don't defend properly.

Schalke 04 got battered in 10/11 season by us should have been a cricket score. I don't know how they thrashed european champions inter milan but Schalke 04 were one of the easiest sides we faced that season in CL.

Mate midtable wolfsburg knocked you out of the CL this year

posted on 15/4/16

Midtable Wolfsburg are a strange side. In Bundesliga they outplay teams but lose or draw regularly. They had high efficiency in CL to get them so far bit like Chelsea of 2012 at both ends but that in most cases only get you so far unless you really are lucky.

Man Utd had 33 shots to Wolfsburg 16 over 2 games but scored 4 and conceded 4. Man Utd had 30 shots against PSV vs 14. It was just highlighted our problems all season batter opposition but drop points like in premierleague due to bad efficiency and LVG is branded clueless while Wenger gets outplayed nearly every week nicks wins=in a title challenge.

Wolfsburg only win in last 6 games in all competitions came against Real Madrid in 2-0 win

They are most strangest side I have seen. They seem to win games they get outplayed in.

While the German top league isn't the best right now I really like what I am seeing from it.

They look like they have absolutely sorted out they infrastructure, fan ownership which is excellent and most importantly they have really invested in youth development.

Their teams look like they are getting a bit better every year. In ten years I think it will be a really strong and competitive league.

I would love to see other European countries adopt some of the ownership and financial policies that Greman football has, Spain for example could really benefit from improved infrastructure and stadiums.
