Mixed feelings about this, if it's true.

Today should be a great day for both United and Van Gaal.

Fancy publishing that now. Poor form unless they have just got the info

Van Gaal simply had to go. This has been a long time coming.

Bit harsh on LVG publishing this just as he's won a cup. Should have waited till tomorrow lol. Fair play to Robb. He was pretty adamant and he got it right.

Incredible career LVG. Average overall for us but thank you for the FA Cup.

Not sure how anyone can have mixed feelings on the back of that performance, which perfectly captures our entire season, as do the celebrations at the end.

How any player for us can be overjoyed by winning that cup is beyond me. Van Gaal was giving it the big guns, waving at the crowd, swanning around like he's adored and he's done right by us.

Our entire winning mentality, that took years to cultivate, is non existent now.

Van Gaal is a cancer on our club, and he needs removing asap. And it just so happens that a proven winner that captures the respect of his players, is available.

I'd feel sick if this didnt happen.

They were saying stuff like this in December. Ed Woodward had a beaming smile when confronting LVG so I think he will wait to see LVG decision.

LvG is now a proven winner too, he was before and is for us now.

He's also a proven drawer and loser on a pretty regular basis too. More so than is really acceptable

"LvG is now a proven winner too, he was before and is for us now."

Really? You're going to grant him that status on the back of an FA Cup win?

And there in lies the problem. You define 'winner' like he will, with a cup that anyone with a punchers chance can win.

We should define 'winner' like our club deserves. The league, or European glory.

Mancini won the fa cup in his 2nd season and then next season won the league title with Man City in his third season. Everyone thought LVG contract is 3 years so technically he should stay final year.

Imagine being the one to tell LVG that he is sacked...

And then to be replaced by his 'protegé'

Even though this was obvious for a long while now, i'd still like to see the reactions though

While I agree we should be challenging for the league every season, the FA Cup is an important trophy. It's the first one that SAF won in his incredible career here remember.

LVG has been sacked so many times by the media that I won't be suprised if he stays.

Hate Jose but I'll support him as long as he's our manager

Agree, but only in context.

In the context of our last 2 years under LVG, i simply cant understand that it holds any weight or value for us. If it serves to cover over a few of the many, many cracks of his tenure, then so be it, but let's not for one minute think that it's value to us at this point is really anything but a reminder that we remember a time when the FA Cup was simply a jigsaw piece towards the triple.

LVG is not like Moyes. He wins usually the bigger games. Also we are a feared side when teams play us as most teams sit back against us like SAF days. The other thing is under LVG we were fighting for top 4 unlike under Moyes which was gone many weeks before end of season.

I would give credit to the board for making this decision, but I'm certain van Gaal stepped down.

Just happy we won the cup don't really care about this LVG/Jose situation right now.

You seem to be having a debate with no one here....

This isnt to compare Moyes and LVG. This is simply a sign of a club that has been mismanaged for 2 years by the same man, regardless of his predecessor.

I see Jose is celebrating by watching the Haye fight.

Of course I define him by that, it's the second most important trophy in the UK and we hadn't won it for twelve years.
I still want him replaced by someone who is more attack minded.
To say he is a cancer on the club is daft.
To say we have lost the winning mentality an hour after watching us win the cup with ten men, in extra time is even dafter.
And our club doesn't 'deserve' anything unless we win it.
