Jose's targets....

Just because jose tried to sign Stones a couple years ago, doesn't mean he will try again.

I mean Stones hasn't really progressed in the last 2 years, if anything, he's making more mistakes than ever.

Plus, I have a strong feeling Jose won't like Smalling. As a defender he's good, but as a ball player, he's horrendous. Jose has always had 2 CBs who can at least play a little. Terry-Carvalho, Ramos-Pepe etc.

Is John Stones the only thing Everton fans have to be excited about? He's a decent young defender but he'a nothing like as good as Rio was at the same age for example. Certainly a good prospect though, no doubt. It would have been difficult for any defender to shine at Everton during Martinez' tenure. Under Jose at United partnering Smalling, he'll develop well if we sign him, but right now he's no better than Jonny Evans who's just as good with the ball at his feet and much more experienced. And we sold him.

Stones' youth and possible potential is what people are judging him on, not the level he's at now. Best way for him to develop is to be part of a consistent partnership at club and national level playing under a manager who will teach him about defending. That's at Jose's United playing with Smalling every week and also with the national team.

£25M is the fee I suspect he'll go for.

Stones is so $hit

The way I see it it's more of the current players that are unlikely to leave, such as Fellaini and Mata, not only do we have to replace those in terms of width in the squad but also someone has to come in and strengthen the squad.

There's no way in hell he'll go for £25m after turning down £38m. He may not want to go if De Boer becomes manager. We turned down £38m when we were skint, we're loaded now.

I wouldn't even want John Stones to play for Peterborough United even if given for free without us being able to sell him for a fee though. If John Stones is a defender then De Gea is a striker.

He wanted to play for Jose at CHELSEA a year ago. He is going to want to play for Jose at United a lot more mate. It'll be £25M, maybe getting upto around £30M tbf is my opinion if we go for Stones. Which I expect we will be. No slight on Everton, but that's just how it'll go I recon. Hope you do get De Boer, would like to see Everton kick on and more regularly be involved in the EL and CL.

Stones £5m is overpriced for him. We overpaid for Shaw as well.

DTKF I think thats actually harsh on DDG as he is a better striker of a football then some of our strikers.
