Ian Crocker is an excellent commentator, and a really nice guy, as you can tell from his tweets
The mute button.
Did Neville commentate? Or Andy Gray? I thought they were pundits, excellent one as that though.
As long as Motson isn't doing it I don't mind. Makes my ears bleed. Goes from silence to absolutely hysterical nonsense over a corner or something. Ridiculous.
I liked when they gave you the radio commentary choice.
And JFDI andy gray was sky sports co commentator for what seemed like forever
Souness is the best analyst on tv for me, doesn't mince his words, knows the game so well and doesn't play the PR game, he's especially good on RTE in Oreland when he's on it as he's even more open and honest.
Gary Neville is a great co commentator and I also quite like McManaman although that could be cause I loved him as a player.
Sorry flash assumed you asked about analysts
Can not stand Guy Mowbery or however you spell his name.
Honestly, I rarely know who is commentating - it's just background noise that occasionally tells me something useful/interesting.
Last season Gary Neville lost 8 league matches out of 17. Jose Mourinho lost 9 league matches out of 16. Both got sacked. Gary Neville statistically lost one less match in one more league game managed
Bill Leslie and Ian Crocker are good commentators

Cheers Nick, I know who Andy Gray is, I saw him play, however I never saw him as a commentator, but as a pundit, or analyst, I don;t think he ever commentated on a game more analysed it afterwards, still it's been a while.........
Guy Mowbery sensationalises everything and it does my nut
Motson is terrible in his old age. He sounds like he doesn't quite know what's going on or remember the player's names.
Give me the Tildsley/Big Ron partnership all day.

Kneerash – In regards to after match analysts I really do like Souness. It stems from when I watched my recording of the Champions League match in 09 the day after the Overbo match.
There was Redknapp trying to hide the grin on his face; and defending Overbo by reminding Souness (who had criticised the refereeing performance and the failure to award Chelsea a penalty) that he came from the Norwegian league. Cue Souness………….
“What League in the World would at least 3 out of 4 of these not be penalties? Chelsea have been done tonight!”
Special mention to Bill McLaren the Scottish Rugby commentator. He was just a legend.
Ian Darke was my favourite commentator (football and boxing). Dunno where he is now but not heard him on TV for a few years...
Agree Souness is a good football pundit.

For co-commentator... well I have to say that gray was actually good.
neville was ok but not as good on that bit. he was bette ron the analysis after
Owen is god awful
best commentator... probably an older one
I always like listening to the old Barry Davies commentary. I think he had authority and sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
The best football commentator of all time, in my opinion, is Barry Davies. His voice just has a sort of grandeur that adds to the occasion.
As a pundit/co-commentator, I did always like Andy Gray, I have to admit.
Other commentators I like are Motson (obviously), Ian Darke and Clive Tyldesley (though I can appreciate the latter might grate a little if you don't support United).
I generally like the MOTD set-up, though plenty don't, with Lineker and the likes of Shearer and Dixon.

Yeah He was Tyler's 2nd for years on a Sunday...until the sexist unpleasantness....mind you it did mean the end of Keys on TV...which can only be good
I like Peter Drury myself....thought Sky would snap him up when ITV lost the majority of any football rights they had...but no

I just don't think Tyldsley is very professional when he commentates on Utd games. You need to remain impartial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, though, Martin Tyler seems to dislike United, or at least to prefer the other big teams. Apart from the "Machedaaaaa!!!" moment, I hardly remember Tyler getting excited about a United goal since about 1994. Someone scores against us and you can almost hear his voice breaking with emotion.
