Nope - it was an even richer guy.

Not sure if it's dead yet so I better not name him.

I've been told today (Tuesday) that a bid for Leeds United is imminent and will come from the West Yorkshire region. Discussions have and are taking place.

My source is credible and I know the "entity". Not in the same league as some recent high profile investors but they are Leeds United fans....

Is your information coming from the bidder's side or the club's side, Stevie?

I guess what I'm really asking is whether you've heard that Cellino is likely to accept the bid or not. I know that you've suggested before that you'd been told that he wanted to sell, but do you know whether this bid stands a chance?

Harj, you might be right. Just repeating what I was told.

Radebe. The desire to sell came from people involved in the purchase, the latest news came from a close contact of those wanting to buy.

They have money. Whether they have the clout to buy and then invest heavily in the way some suggest is necessary is doubtful. Would they be better custodians? Yes absolutely.

I know he's been talking to buyers but it's never going to be easy with MC and the state of the club's finances.

Hopefully one of the guys is the one I've been told is brokering the deal and could end up as CEO.

Stoopo: what line of business are these guys involved in? The information I was given was done so without knowing I was a Leeds United fan so I'm taking it as genuine. The prospective buyers are huge Leeds United fans but do not currently sponsor the club.

Unless this local consortium are going to sell us on straightaway I have no interest in them taking us over.

They will more than likely have less money than Cellino and wont be able to afford to move us forward.

this board meeting on 21/6 sounds pretty detremental to our season

Must have been 2 years ago that Cellino claimed he'd fixed all the issues with gfh and more recently told us the club was fixed forever.

Now we can't even make transfers apparently, yet we've been effectively falsely promised a top 6 season.

Shambles.

Rich - find me on Twitter @stoopo and I'll fill you in on what I know.

The guy I heard who is brokering the deal really wants to keep it close to his chest until it's all sorted. I have to respect that and won't put it out on an open forum.

Cellno has been and still is talking as far as I know.

.... But as I said months ago - he's skint and we are in the crap unless he sells up.

What I did hear was that the guy/people looking to buy wanted to put someone in place to run the club - who knew the club and its supporters - and to get a manager who was calable of getting the best out of what we have in the squad and invest in the academy - not just throw £millions at the problem.

I guess "sustainable growth" is what they mean.

GM and his team appear to fit part of that strategy. Let's just hope the rest of it comes off too.

That's not much better than what we have now, just another potless chancer

Have to agree gelderd.

Dr. X may well have been what we needed.
Stoopo/Stevie, hope you're guy(s) are his equal
and genuinely interested.

On manager/coach, I'm more than happy with Monk & team. I wouldn't change that, new owner or not.

This entity has assets in excess of £3 billion. Certainly not potless chancers. It's more about what they consider to be disposable assets that can be diverted to the club without impacting on core business.

Sounds similar Stevie. I'm told he/they are minted but will not just throw money at it (difficult under fpp anyway).

Building something good takes a little while.

Just heard that they are still waiting on MC. I guess he's still hoping to keep the club to finance his lifestyle
