I don't understand why we didn't give him a run of games on the right? He's a right-footed winger, who's struggling on the left, the logical thing to do would be to play him on the right, see how he does. I do agree with the above posters though, IF he does leave, i won't mind.

He's not that sort of wide player who's gonna run on the touch line and whip in balls.

He's always played on the left, cut in and been a scorer.

If he can't even do that, what makes people think that a run on the right doing something different will serve him better

He's played on the right for PSV and has got in behind and cause some damage.

I'm not saying he's going to be the next Beckham if he plays on the right but at least try him out there, it's his natural side, he doesn't have to keep stopping and checking inside.

Defenders now what he's going to do before he's even touched the ball and he's pretty easy to read like a lo of "inverted wingers", there's no harm in giving him a few games on the right IMO.

100% agree. Hopefully he gets some time on the right preseason.

I'm fed up of seeing teams play 4-2-3-1 with two inverted 'wingers' (if you're inverted, you're not a winger IMO).

England and Portugal are two teams that have failed to live up to potential at Euro 2016 so far largely due to trying to play all their football through the middle.

How much better were England in a 4-3-3? How much better were Portugal today vs their first half against Iceland?
