Portugal won't win so they won't top the group.
Should beat any of them. Portugal have looked awful so far, and would be an utter embarrassment if we went out to the other teams.

I'd be very optimistic about Austria or Iceland. Portugal... we have to beat them some time... don't we? I'd be 50-50 - too close to call. As for Hungary, I just have a feeling that they might be the surprise packages of the next round, along with Wales.

If Portugal and Iceland both win, Portugal finish second and meet England. As it stands, we'd play Iceland. You could argue that the likeliest results are for both Austria and Portugal to win, in which case we would play Austria. Hungary seem the least likely opponents at this stage.
--------------
This is all wrong. If Portugal and Iceland win it is down to GD, not Icelamd for sure.
If Portugal and Austria win then Hungary finish 2nd and face us.
Hungary draw and Austria win puts it down to GD between Austria and Portugal.
If both games are drawn it goes to who scores more out of Iceland and Portugal. Iceland currently 1 ahead.

Of course you're right about GD. I don't see many goals going in at all so maybe no team's will change radically. Maybe two teams will end with identical records.
Portugal haven't been terrible, but they need to change their setup.
They've got a strong bunch of midfielders, but they don't have a clue how to play together. The diamond in their first game was disastrous.
Their biggest problem though, for me, is exactly the same as England's; they are attacking well-regimented, well-structured defences and trying to play everything down the middle. I lost count of the number of times in their first two games I saw their fullbacks, wider midfielders and forwards cut inside and look for a through ball when there were six defensive players on the edge of their box and acres of space out wide.
If I were Santos, I'd start with a 4-4-1-1 tonight with Nani and Quaresma stretching the game out wide and Moutinho in behind Ronaldo.
They simply have to try something different. As do England.
If Portugal and Austria win then both have to be by 2 goals each otherwise Austria still finish 3rd on GD.

Why? It's GF not head to head.
1) Points
2) GD
3) Goals scored
4) Fair play
5) Rankings
It is H2H. Hence why Ukraine were out before today
It really isn't DJ.
