You gotta love the Jocks though. Now all smugly saying "we voted to remain, we didn't want this" yet a year ago the same people were voting to leave the UK which would have meant automatic expulsion from the EU. You couldn't make it up!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the same way we made a big deal about them not being in the EU if they left, then voting to leave anyway.

Hypocrites everywhere.

not to worry chaps, maurice has the answer
let the scots have their independence
we leave the eu, striking a special trade deal in view of historical ties, good pals blah blah ......
buy up all the land just over the border and build hundreds of warehouses ...
hey presto all our eu exports go in at eu custom rates !

the best of both worlds

The future of the planet looks time limited with Putin, Trump and that dear young man from North Korea in power. Can we find a suitable nutter to lead our nation and add a little more instability to the universe?

That does not mean that uncontrolled immigration is a good thing though. It has certainly applied downward pressure on wages and has put additional pressure on services. I also think that Aries is wide of the mark if he thinks we can have our gateau and eat it - if we are part of the EU we will never have control over the number of people coming here from EU states.
For me the upside outweighs the down which is why I am voting in.

The British people have seen through the EU and its intransigent rules and have voted with their feet.
Britain can now do as it pleases with immigration.

Noticed a lot of people put forward Switzerland as a great example of life without the EU.

Can't help but feel, looking at their line up today, that immigration hasn't been dealt with very well!!

See a lot of people blaming the old folk.

I don't blame them really, they can cast their minds back to what used to be, its the 30 something morons who post all the anti immigrant bolloks that caused the split, i could have picked all the ins and outs from my friends easily, the uneducated went one way and the educated went the other.

The Scottish government is looking into ways that it can remain in the EU, whether or not it gains independence. A lot of businesses could relocate to Scotland if this happens.

Denmark is in the EU, whereas two of territories - Greenland and the Faroe Islands, choose not to be, so there is a precedent.

I can't remember who likened the EU to the orchestra on the Titanic but their house of cards is finished, next comes Grexit,De(nmark)xit,Ne(therlands)xit,Fr(ance)exit,It(aly)exit etc. repeat till fade!

Dunno Barca, the EU is certainly flawed but i can see a shake up rather than a break up.

Corrupt and rotten to the core, haven't signed off on an audit for around two decades, with tens or even hundreds of millions gone missing!
If you want the truth of the EU then look no further than Greece, they have systematically destroyed a country that invented democracy and did just fine without the EU for around three thousand years of more,a total and utter disgrace!
