You don`t perhaps think that the events of the previous few days will affect everybody in the country. Football certainly will not.
It`s not even the football season. So there should be no chat of football, apart from about the boring Euros.

He does have a point though. This site is really unappealing at the moment because of all the brexit talk. It's meant to be a site where I come to read about and discuss football. At the moment it's boring.
Worse bit is, it's over, nothing is gonna change the result so bleating about it on either side is pointless. I don't see why there has to be scores of articles saying the same thing over and over.
Keep it to one thread.

Yeah I get that. But looking at his profile he isn't one to create a load of them, and like me, probably relies on others to kick off the debate.

I don't see any harm in it; provided people stay on each thread's topic, it's easy enough to avoid the TV/film/music/political debates, etc.
If people go off topic and OPs aren't happy with the direction in which things are going, they can intervene.

I think the referendum thread was a good idea tbf, it's still going strong and anyone who wants to talk about it can, and have been, doing so on there.
The OP is kind of right though, during the match thread for yesterday's Poland - Switz and Wales - NI games an EU discussion broke out which was annoying because:
a) there was already a thread devoted to the topic and b) the endless multi-quoting meaning you had to scroll for ages to find the football related comments
