He's not injury prone and would score bags of goals in Scotland. Very good at Championship level so would imagine he would do well for Celtic. Rodgers may have known him from Chelsea but not sure their paths would have crossed.

So sick of hearing this cr@p

Why does every striker from England seem to be able to 'score for fun' 'score a barrel load' in Scotland etc etc

Feckin patronising as fvck

Calm down, wasn't meant to be patronising. But plenty of Championship players have gone to Scottish league and been a big success. Kris Commons for example made the switch.

It's more the other way round tbh.

Many SPL players, some mediocre, have gone on to forge solid careers at Championship level in England, with some even becoming Premier League mainstays.

Off the top of my head.. Charlie Adam, Ross McCormack, Ross Wallace, Robert Snodgrass, Steven Davis, Sone Aluko, Steven Fletcher, Glen Loovens, Andy Robertson, Joe Ledley, Darren Randolph.

That's just off the top of my head, there's many more. It just shows that the level of the English Championship is either pretty crap or Scottish football isn't as bad as you think.

Most of those 'mediocre' players were very successful in Scotland and then in the Championship which suggests the two leagues are similar.

I also don't think the Championship is a good league. It was very poor last season, much like the Scottish league has been for last few years.

The standard up here isn't that bad.. it just seems to be against European teams that the majority of clubs up here fvck it up.

A good chunk of those players I mentioned did nothing up here, and most went to England purely to chase the money.

The standard in England throughout all the leagues is honking when you consider the money on offer and the calibre of player teams are able to attract.

The quality of the German, Italian, and Spanish leagues are much better, granted the Italian league matches can be chronic to watch due to the formations and tactics on display.

Yep definitely agree that the top European leagues are miles ahead of England. Possibly with Guardiola, Conte and Mourinho managing the quality will rise but who knows.

I thought Charlie Adam played regularly towards end of his Rangers career, at a time when they were successful in Europe? Steven Davis also won several league titles didn't he? And Joe Ledley was a good player at Celtic. Others were very average but I suppose there are examples from both sides.

Adam was pretty much ridiculed by Gers fans, hence why he was given the boot and ended up at Blackpool when they were a team of nobodies.

Ledley did well with us, as did Davis with Rangers.

Quite a few players have come up from the Championship and done next to nothing up here.
