Just watched the full press conference on Player. I have to say I thought, for a guy fielding some tough questions not in his first language, he performed very well. The enthusiasm came across, and I immediately got the feeling that he is not likely to hide his opinions when asked for them.
I don't want to knock Kenny, who I thought always handled himself very professionally, but you were always left with the impression that he spoke a lot but said very little. I think this guy may well say much more than the words he chooses to utter.
If nothing else I think we have a manager who will exhibit more charisma than any since the memorable Mr McCarthy. I hope he manages to distill equal passion from the players

Interesting to see the McCarthy comparison in the E&S today. Will be good to have a manager show some passion again. Let's hope the new guy gets us up as champs too. Looking forward to the season.

I don't know where that was, but if he can win the title and get us up as champions, like Mick, we'll both be happy, I'm sure. A manager with "character" once more. I'm excited.

You will be happy with that but most of us will just take promotion and be more concerned with how we fare once in the top division.

Perhaps this time we will grow once there and not blow another glorious opportunity by stagnating once the hard bit is done.

I'm more worried about getting promotion to be honest.

That in itself is a big ask.

Think the harder bit is staying there to be honest, as we have seen, plenty of managers are good enough for the champo but found wanting in the prem.

Some genuine crap gets out of the champo when you look at it and some remarkably talentless footballers also.

Wonder what peoples expectations are this season though and of course Fosuns expectations?

Personally a top six push and then who knows in the play offs.
