Incidentally, as far as I could see, from my own personal glass-house, Big Sam only acknowledged that the practice of 3rd party ownership went on, and that people were getting round it. Was he just giving an honest account of the game?
He was asked to go and speak in the Far East, for a fee, but he did say several times that he'd have to clear that with the FA.
Did I miss anything?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the impression I got. It was silly of him, but I don't think he disrespected the country.

Perton, there are even "fans" who just like to criticise certain players, regardless of how they are playing. Can you believe that!

Bit harsh on OhSo. Always comes across as a decent guy to me and most of what he posts is sensible and well thought out.
nope that's about right bute
sam sacked for insulting comments about woy as much as anything else. the same comments 1001 posters on JA606 and the wolves board would make. the difference being a lack of professionalism and courtesy when yr actually employed by the FA.
I've said for years - all the way back to the MM days in the prem when we knew he wasn't going to make it - that we should have gone all out to get allardyce. proven manager with the ability to get us up and keep us up.
not calling for WZ sack just yet but if fosun decide to pull the trigger I won't be crying either. I am happy giving the new manager time to work with the players and get them performing because I don't think the disjointed squad is zenga's fault. but I do blame him for mystifying decisions on team selections and substitutions - like bringing on coady when we need to score twice to get a win.
Sam explained to people how to get round FA rules. The FA employs the England manager. Don't see how they could do anything but sack him
if you ask me DJ I could explain to you where you can get hard drugs even in the small village in Herefordshire doesn't mean I approve of it or I expect you to go and do it
As for Zenga, then it's no different to any manager we have ever had, sack him if we have someone better to bring in.
How many times have Wolves played well since Rob Edwards was appointed first team coach?

for the other person it's just par for the course
sam didn't really explain how to get round the rules using insider knowledge and coming up with some new wheeze though did he? he commented on how open the rules were - which everybody knows, given people already do it now. there was no effort, attempt or suggestion that he was providing people with ideas for how to trick the FA or FIFA.
this is the difference between saying "I know a lot of people reduce their tax bill through avoidance", or creating a new avoidance scheme and actively selling it, IMO.
still foolish, especially given sam's years of experience and awareness of how quick the media is to jump on any old story to sell their rags regardless of newsworthiness. but for me the whole thing was whipped up into a major scandal and has just as quickly dies down again, suggesting there aren't really any big stories to report. remember the rumours and hints at all those premier league names who've been caught breaking the rules or even the law? and what has come of that since?

I don't see him as tarnished goods ohso, I see him as a one way ticket out of this league - upwards, not the Solbakken/Zenga downwards direction in which we are heading !
sam may have called the job a poisoned chalice before, but tbh no more so than west ham (unrealistic expectations of fans that the manager can magically return them to the early 1960s), or the England job (unrealistic expectations of fans that the manager can magically return the side to 1966). both of which jobs sam took when offered the right pay packet.
or another option - dean saunders knows how to get out of this league but he's still not telling anyone...

Agree with most of the e&s ratings. Can't say I was impressed as much by Teixeira as Spiers was. Edwards, Saiss, Silvio and John the pick for me.
Was pleased before the game to see Bodvarsson and Dicko in the starting line up. But I thought it was a mistake to play Bod behind his partner as he needs to be the main man up front. Dicko meanwhile still looked rusty

tex had a decent first half I thought. created a few good chances and showed some skills but was equally frustrating when choosing wrong options and getting muscled off the ball. still only a 45 minute player for now.
bod was not good (talk he's still unfit following recent injuries), and dicko looks several weeks away from full fitness. he wasted two or three good openings taking too long or looking for the extra touch instead of shooting.
costa was not as good as in recent games, altho had two nice long range efforts.
edwards was definitely one of the best and again showed more commitment and nous than others. brought the front four into play well, broke up the opposition's play and also looks more and more a captain than DB in the way he tries to motivate the side.
Love all this moral compass stuff.
We are a club that sold any ideas of that down the river a while ago with out foreign ownership and shirt sponsor etc etc.
If big Sam would come we should move heaven and earth to bring him here as he is comfortably the best option available out there.
We could try the foreign fancy Dan route with this Silva chap but this league is crap and it appears most gifted players just don't get a look in as we can see with texeira, a player that will be carving teams up in the champions league for years to come but doesn't run hard enough for us to get consistent starts.
