I never usually bet against my beloved, but with Fergie's bizarre tactics, injuries and the possibility of a few youngsters coming in, I'm going to say 2-1 to Oldham Attendance 2071, Blair.
1-0 rovers

Oldham always seems a grim spot for playing football, for anything really. Rovers always seem to have a bad time there and if they get anything it seems to be fortunate.
Ferguson always sounds eminently sensible in his pre-match interviews and they are probably more informative and interesting than most of his contemporaries. However, he does not always do what he appears to be promising. I think they will try and play football tomorrow and Alcock back in the team will surely be a plus. I expect Butler, Copps and Marquis will be left out because of injury risk. He could still field experienced players with Keegan and Richardson available and it will be interesting to see how the younger ones will combine up front.
So with not a lot to lose, out-of-form struggling opposition and no desire for a draw we might well progress and all be encouraged.
So 2-1 to us, Mandeville with the 1st or Beestin if absent and 3100 there.
going for 1-1 draw, calder to score, crowd 2895
This is a difficult one as we do not know who will be playing and DF's "experimentation" could be a disaster. My gut feel is a narrow defeat such as Otter says, but I never predict against the good guys and so I'll say 2-1 to the Rovers with Beestin scoring if he starts, otherwise a Butler bullet header from a corner.
I forgot about the crowd - 3423
Going to negative again. 2-1 Oldham. I think he is playing his worst signing ever in goal again. Beestin to score if he starts if not Calder. Crowd 3131
Morning all,
Listening to Fergies pre match media, I get the feeling that the FA Cup is not on his priority list.As a fan we all look forward to this competition, once you' be dodged the bullets of the non league / league teams you hope hope for a plum draw against a top five side.
Oldham away is one of the worst draws we could have been given, we never seem to get a result there.
However, in the grand scheme of things I think Fergie is playing it clever, just like in the Checkatrade Trophy he is giving game time to our back up players and resting the key ones.
This is a win / win ( pardon the pun ).
As we have seen the younger players have flourished and have the added bonus of banking game time experience which will be crucial when they may be called upon in the second half of the season.
He is definitely looking at the bigger picture.
As this will be an experimental team we will not know how they will perform, just hope they give it a right go from the off.
Hope the travelling Rovers faithful give Paul Green a round of applause, a Rovers legend.
Score: 2-1 Oldham
Scorer: Alfie Beestin
Crowd 3430.
Well put Cheltenham. It would be nice come Wednesday morning we have progressed in both this and the checkatrade trophy as it gives the fringe players and young players match practice in the event we have a series of injuries or suspensions the need to call on them.
2-1 Oldham, 3211 attendance, Blair to score if not on Beestin to score
Head n heart job today. Going 3-1 to them. Beast to score. Crowd of 3765.
Oldham 2-1 Rovers
Marquis to score, if absent Beestin.
Crowd 3,456.
Have to go with my heart. 2-1 to Rovers. Marquis. 3245
2-1 Rovers
Marquis to score, Beestin to score if Marquis isnt playing
And a crowd of 3276
Fa cup journey over till next season.
Fergie may need to read Paul Dickoffs book of excuses
On the brightside. ...... have we found our penalty taker.
If we are as strong as DF would have us believe this should have been a comfortable game with a draw as the outcome at least, From what I can deduce of the Oldham line-up it does seem to have been more or less their strongest team whereas we were only lacking Copps and Houghton by the end; so only small consolation.
It's very difficult to get any joy from the performance from what I heard and it is thoroughly depressing that they did not seem to try much until the last 5 minutes.
It would have been a miserable result if Oldham had been mid table, but this is the division we hope to return to and get out of with more or less this set of players. Butler's injury at the end just about crowns the misery.
We can't keep pretending that this kind of display is the exception. It bodes ill.
Considerable improvement and much more drive and determination are required.
