I think the optimists will feel we can scrape Top 4 if others fail to perform, the realists accept it's not very likely, the pessimists think we don't have a chance.

Fact is we've gone from expecting a title challenge to hoping we finish top 4 in the space of 2 months. It isn't good.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not 'realistic' to think we won't make top 4. Far from it. We're 6 points behind a side who are stumbling and have to go to Chelsea and Liverpool where I feel they'll lose. We've already got those fixtures out of the way.

We do have some insecure fans

They are stumbling right now, but have proven over the past 24 months they can put a run together.

We have not,

We're only 3 months into the season. We could very well put a run together. We have the manager and the players to do it.

Not saying we will but it's certainly not realistic to say it's not likely.

we've still got to go to Arsenal, Spurs, City... we've all got tough games to come and tough games already out of the way

it's entirely realistic to say we won't go on a run and miss out on top 4... we've shown no signs of being able to stick a run of wins together regardless of players and manager

Our next games are West Ham, Everton away, Spurs... West hams our best hope for a win ... followed by 2 away games at WBA and Palace who although are both cr@p, normally give us a tough game at both grounds

I think we'll beat the hammers... wouldn't surprise me to drop points in any of the other games

Our next banker is feckin boxing day against Sunderland

Disagree. I'd say we are more likely to miss out on the Top 4 than we are to.....fair enough if you disagree.

At this moment Chelsea, Liverpool and City look certainties. Arsenal have a long history of making Top 4 and Spurs are on a terrible run, which should improve with the return of their two star players.

I expect us to improve, but I also expect Arsenal, Spurs and City to.

we wont get top 4, zero chance. we are more likely to finish 10th than get top 4. so we need to put all our focus on this competition. there actually is a fair chance.

It isn’t a hinderence on the players as we rotate them, it is more of a hinderence on the fans and we are the ones that bring the real success to the club (money). If there is a game on the Thursday, it makes it much more difficult for us fans at the weekend. Tonight, proper die hard fans like me will finish work early to get home to my laptop and put on a stream on cricfree.tv. Finishing work early means I will need to be in early the next day meaning I will be tired at the weekend. I will wake up half an hour later at the weekend because of this. I will therefore have less time to click on Cheverolet or Adidas adverts during the build up to the match at the weekend, and therefore the club will lose money (success).

We haven't rotated the likes of Pogba, Zlatan, Rashford, De Gea

At this stage, and as you stand, it's completely absurd to be thinking where your best chance of a CL berth lies.

It's the kind of thing that might be worth considering in Feb or March at the earliest. For the time being you have to keep yourselves in a position on both fronts to hope that you're in a situation to be making those choices later in the season.

Notwithstanding the above, I'm of the opinion that a club like United should aspire to win any and every trophy it enters. No matter how hard it might be to win it all, thinking otherwise -especially after barely a third of th season- denotes a small time mentality.

Thing is, if you guys take it seriously, you would probably be favorites to win it. Unlike last year, there aren't, or won't be, any teams in the competitions that would not look out of place in the CL knockout stages - your only real competition would be Roma, Gladbach and, if they can be bothered, Spurs.

We have to win this, no point going out of this competition at first hurdle against mediocre group opposition. It's not as if we have been going well in the league and playing second string players in this competition.

We have just been equally as crap in both.
I do not believe we will win comfortably even if we played our strongest team, I can see us getting a hard fought 2-1 win but if we play a weak team I could see us losing especially if we do not get an early goal.
