However it's up against stiff competition!
It is not cheating, however I still believe that this nonsense about being inactive is stupid.
If you are running back from offside you are not inactive, you are trying to get back onside. All the uncertainty could be cleared up over night by either making all off sides given regardless of interfering with play or not.
One solution would be to create a line say across the pitch inside each half and around 10 yards outside the penalty area. There would be no offside up to that line but all off sides past that line to be given.
A fairly simple solution, and it would be better for the game too.
Or of course making ALL off sides inside the penalty area active, full stop!
Those horrible City players, running around the pitch making it hard for my team!

The offside rule worked better before the recent changes though. Currently we have players obstructing the keeper's view not even given offside.
As everyone else has said, wot you complain about cannot be construed as cheating. Perhaps if they were changing their shirts to Lillywhite, then .....
But I think the reason our defense had such a hard time, first 20 mins, was Vertonghen missing. Did Wimmer really do as well as Verts would have under pressure?
However, bend we did, but break we did not.
Halftime was 0-0.
It was Hugo's day off in the second half that put us in a hole.
