If anything is ruining darts, it's the inability of anyone being able to stop MvG. Come on Thorny/ White!
Yeah, thought that when Taylorn declined we would see a more competitive field, but MvG has destroyed everyone.
Gary Anderson is pretty much the only challenge, Peter Wright hasn't got the bottle it seems. Lewis and Wade have declined with Taylor and the others like Smith and Chisnall haven't stepped up to the hype.

2016 was van Gerwen's year and he deservedly won the world title but this year all the other players have got to up their game. Michael knows everyone wants to beat him and he will probably up his game too. His opponents need to believe that they can beat him and not think he's invincible.
The one thing prime Taylor has over MvG and that is gamesmanship.
Think prime Taylor would beat MvG due to this tbh.

I think his style of play is probably less open to a long stay at the top as well, tbh.

Classic taylor to announce his "retirement" - which seems to involve retiring from all the rubbish events, not from the big ones - a year in advance, giving himself a 12 month retirement tour.

The Premier League should be axed tbh, was a good concept but it has pretty much run it's course, and it's just boring. Rather just have a new style tournament instead, maybe triple in?
Yeah, don't think many like the PL. But as long as it keeps getting the attendances it will carry on.
They should replace it with "Pub Games". Cricket, half-it, leave-it, overs, unders etc.
