Question Bhoy's

If we banked £40m (never going to be anywhere near that though), then I would like us to chuck £8-£10m at Patrick Roberts. Being English he won't depreciate much below that anyway.

Then bank the rest to support the next few windows.

eye, i agree, fair point bud, you'd maybe double your money after a few years.

There's no way we would spend that figure on one player in the foreseeable future. It's too big a risk.

It's a fair point music

I'll go for the boring approach and sit in the middle - I would hope we would wipe out any debt, budget for three years inflated wage bill and sign a couple of 8-10 million pound players (who will need paid a decent wage). Won't have us vying for the cl but if they are quality could keep us at the top domestically and push a little more in the cl - e.g. Try to get in - then out - the group stage.

None would want to come

We attract young potential at the moment Timmy in the 2-3 million range. With an enhanced wage offer Celtic are a reasonably attractive offer for many ambitious young players. Or we could buy another 4 Scott Sinclair

How much did you bank getting into the Champs League this season again? Mind the articles on here saying how you could blow us out the water after getting that, you could but you haven't.

Never mind selling Dembele, why haven't yous used that money to bring in more players like him and try keep him a bit longer? Lack of ambition. Happy just turning up in the CL now, wouldn't have had that a good few years ago.

About 33 million renegade - I beg to differ about blowing out the water - we are 25 points ahead as it stands and we've not even began spending yet !

posted on 2/2/17

The league was always yours, 25 points ahead of a team just up from the Championship. Enough to get your fans to turn up this season eh!

But I like say, its being in Europe and after Christmas that used to be the goal for both Old Firm. Standards have dropped and you don't care or haven't noticed.

Not having a dig renegade but I'd rather cut our cloth to suit and stay solvent than take these gambles.

We don't get the money to the end of the season.

As for blowing you out the water, we've dropped points in one game this season. We can't do anything about your results ( similar to Warburton it seems).

Bitter much?

I don't feel compfy about it either.

Bitter to be realistic?

I just don't think I'd be creaming myself over your achievements this year. Doing well aye, but you could have been winning the league by this much over the last few years without any bother but your standards slipped. Or you going to sit their and kid yourself otherwise?

I know, not good enough eh.

Even if the 1970 Brazil team or the 89/90 AC Milan team would only be 2 points better off than us, at best

I think Celtic have the potential to be on a par with Ajax if they invest the money properly. Invest in a good worldwide scouting network, bring in raw talent, nurture them and sell on for a profit. With BR managing, you've certainly got a manager who isn't afraid to throw younger players into the first team.

I'd say maintain the current principles and strategy, but at a higher level, bolstered by the long term effects of the windfall from Moussa

You were talking about this season.

Unbeaten domestically all season so far, 25 wins in the league in the trot-wtf else do you want us to do domestically?!?

Troll.

There's nothing else you can do domestically. 25 wins, or 20 wins, makes no difference really. You win the league at the end of the day.

Same as the last few years. When your fans slowly got lower and lower not caring about the domestic dominance, till the big boys were back in town and changed all that

It's a business balancing act of what's best to do with profit.

Undoubtedly there will be significant dividends payable to shareholders and should the club wish, they could attract further investment from those who might see the club as providing a quite healthy return.

Next is how much "investment" in the club is worth it? I can't see them paying out £8-10m on one player ever again because quite simply that isn't our business model which to be fair has served us well over many years of highs and lows so why change it?

A sensible approach would be to pay of long standing loans early although again there's a balancing act to be done on early payment terms which may not amount to much as we appear to have extremely low fixed interest rates when all predictions indicate that obtaining credit will prove yo be more exiendiv in years to come and we are servicing all our arrangements with relative ease.

Lastly, any profit "left as cash" in the business will attract taxation.

This is why we have a CEO like Lawell who as a fantastic team of financial advisers.

Problem is the English clubs just buy up all the young players and ruin them.
