As for the Honda Engine being a donkey – they clearly have some issues to sort out, but Gary Anderson was saying on Autosport today, that Alonso wasn't able to use all the power it had because the chassis couldn't handle it.

"McLaren can't complain about a lack of Honda power. Alonso just can't get on the throttle properly between Turn 2 and Turn 3 because of a lack of overall grip. There's plenty more of the old gee-gees available if the chassis was stronger."

He thought that the Ferrari looked the most planted and consistent through the corners, Merc next, but not quite so solid.

Mercs lulling Ferrari into false sense of security, by using conservative engine (modes) and higher fuel loads.
Sandbagging.

Final test next week they'll probably start to show their hand...

I'm not sure about Ferrari, they always do well in testing, same thing happened last year, and look where they ended up. I think Mercedes are just hiding their true pace and so are Red Bull.

Williams looking competitive in second test of past two days but they've admitted using low fuel on softest compound of tyre, whilst Mercedes are still using medium to high fuel.
Still at least 2-3 more seconds to bring out for Red Bull & Mercedes.

Honda *sigh*

Just a shambles.

Disgrace Alonso third season running in that car hugely down on (engine) power.

Ferrari have pretty shown their hand, as they did last season topping times in testing.

What we learnt from testing....Ferrari, Mercedes and Redbull will most likely battle it out for drivers and constructers. Williams will be just behind and McLaren will do less laps than the safety car spending more time in the garage than the track. It's been 3 years with Honda, and they've gone backwards. A team with their budget doing this badly is a joke really. Ditching the Merc engine for Honda was a big mistake.

With Manor defunct, there's a spare Mercedes engine...

McLaren may well go back to Mercedes, If no significant improvement through the season with Honda.

Look at 1:18s for majority of the field Australian qualifying. Possibly low 1:17s (from top 3).

Super quick.

On second thoughts:
1:20s majority.
1:19s top 3.

Conservative estimation.
