Maybe I'm in a minority here but I think today is actually a day for John Terry. Yes I know he could be exposed for pace by a fit Spurs side but he is so experienced that he is a past master at preventing situations like that occurring by how he plays positionally. We looked so leaderless at OT last week that I think him being at the back would bring a calming influence today.

We have had many crap performances like this with John Terry playing. Im sorry but it makes me laugh when we have a bad loss and people say "Didier, Lamps, Cech, JT wouldn't have overseen such a gutless performance" umm well they did and on more than one occasion.

There hae been other articles on this recently though lol

Where did I mention Drogba and Co? It's blatantly obvious that with the amount of games that Terry has played there would be some bad performances amongst them. There would also be a lot of very good performances from him that made the difference and I think we may well have got another one out of him today for possibly the last time. Players that didn't play can't be blamed for an abject performance by everyone else.

Conte's thinking is that Terry can play in a back 3, but only in the central role. He i scared that if Terry gets dragged out to the flanks then he is toast............

Yeah and there's been many games the players who played Sunday have made a difference. Don't get me wrong I'm not playing down Terry's influence but I'm not sure him playing would have made much difference.

I remember at the start of last season Jose was playing Cahill and Zouma with mixed results we all said we were missing JT, we got our wish for him to return vs Southampton and it changed absolutely nothing.

Biggish I did acknowledge the danger of that in my original post, but the good thing about Terry is he knows what he's good at and what he isn't and he is very cute at managing his game to avoid dangerous situations for him.
