Give goalkeeping to him and Emiliano. Ship out Ospina and keep Cech for... whatever.

This.

I was impressed with Martinez in his spell. Controlled the defence and good on crosses. Although cant really blame him for the 3 against Palace he could improve his shot stopping. Got a big future ahead of him.

I'd take him back.

I imagine he'd go back to his old self if he came back tho.

I'm also not sure he would want to come back.

We got one good season out of Cech but his decline this season has been ridiculous. Dunno if it is down to him solely or the coaching or just low confidence in himself and the defenders around him but we can't have that type of Cech as our #1 next season.

I would rather keep Ospina than to have him back.

Having nervous melt-downs in games is not conducive to good play. Pressure is a prerequisite at big clubs like Arsenal. Woj needs to stay at some small backwater club.

He's made some really good saves and put in performances that were initially expected of him at start of his career. So yes I'll take him back

If he was never an Arsenal player, we would want him now.

Bring him back.

I like Chesney as a character. Don't follow Serie A so can only go by the reports which appear positive. Get him back and sell Ospina. If he's improved he'll oust Cech if he hasn't we can offload him in Jan

There is a huge difference between the coverage the premier league gets and the scudetto. The Italian and the Spanish leagues for that matter also focus more on marketable players of which woj is not one.

Arsenal is the 7th richest club in the world. There are is a huge difference if woj has a melt down at Arsenal compared to Roma. The media would rip him apart here as they have done in the past.

Woj is mentally weak. Just because he has been out of our minds for a while doesn't change what a calamity he was at Arsenal which is why Wenger sent him on loan in the first place.

Agree the pressure may be less but Roma and Rome as a city is hardly a backwater

Not saying that. My point was that Woj has never been able to stand the pressure. And for a goalkeeper every mistake if discussed, analysed and players are labelled if they play for any top club in England. That sort of scrutiny just doesn't exist for him at Roma. I don't hear Roma bidding for Woj. It was rumoured that we were paying some of his wages when he was initially loaned. So were Roma only interested when he was on a cheap?

The post was not meant as an insult to Roma because I don't think he has even convinced them to pay his full wages.

Fair enough. However, Woj has been gone for 2 years now and by all accounts has improved. We
need a young hungry goalie and as Woj is already ours I'd suggest bringing him back to see if he's improved. If he hasn't, then no harm done and we can sell him. No brainer really

There is because I think Martinez is good enough to be back up next season.

Does that mean you would want Cech as #1 again?

Not really. I suggested earlier in the season that we could make a complete break and bring in someone like Butland. But I don't think it will happen because of the number of changes that maybe required further up the field so Wenger or any new manager may need an experienced figure at goalkeeper like Cech for the dressing room.

Mentally weak?!?! I think if anything, he was a bit too arrogant. He was never one to let a bad decision or goal get him down. He moved on very fast and was confident in his abilities. He was a bit of a mad man (like Lehmann) but I think he showed enough to give him another chance as he just needed to mature. I was pretty appalled when he left and think he is ready for the number 1 role again.

All those who want him back send messages to Arsenal on social media asking to give him a chance 😁

Don't confuse bravado with confidence. I still can't get over his reaction against, I think it was Southampton, after he gifted them two goals.
