It's quite reassuring when you find out something like that, a returning poster I mean rather than "another one".

Spurs can hardly take the moral high ground about any transfer policy because down the years they've pretty much tried them all.

The only reason Spurs aren't spending as much as other teams is down to needing money for the new stadium - which is being build to create more financial muscle to 'compete' in the transfer market with other teams.

In the past Spurs have gone down the route of splurging sh*tloads on instant impact players, other times they've bought young players with potential with a eye to selling and profitting from them.

Its only now that they are perhaps taking - it remains to be seen - a more considered approach in the transfer market while others seemingly are spending big that they and Levy are getting credit for running a good ship.

Not really the case down the years though is it? Spurs have spent plenty, sacked plenty of managers, and spent plenty more under Levy. If you chuck enough sh*t then eventually some of it will stick, which is possibly what we are now seeing with Spurs.

Once the stadium is complete and the revenues are flowing, will Spurs still be operating the same policy, or will they be splurging money like yesteryear? Will Spurs fans change tack if they do chuck money around and say 'well, its only what other clubs have been doing'?

Very true.

Dont really see why you are trying to stigmatize spending, there is nothing wrong with spending money that the club has generated thats why we moved and why you are moving to increase revenue. The real problem is clubs who are spending money they dont have or have inherited vast fortunes over night ie Manchester City and previously Chelsea.

Manchester United, Arsenal, City

Spurs finished above all of them. With the money you guys spent, that is an embarrassment to football.

But it shows that sometimes good things do happen

Two of those teams won something we like to call silverware though

The only silverware down at the Lane cuts up the players food

Arsenal have been spending money regularly since 2013. Maybe not to the extent of United/City but not being able to compete financially with the big boys isn't an excuse anymore.

Don't see how that makes us a poorly run club. I mean we are a poorly run club but not for the reasons cited in the OP

Don't worry spurs fans. After 5 or 6 years in your new stadium you might start attracting top players like Arsenal can.

There's no only difference between the Spurs way and the Arsenal way is that your stadium move is happening a decade later. Until the build up to the stadium move, Spurs went about the running of their club similar to utd and Chelsea
