Maybe Trippier can have as good a season as Walker. I can certainly see him having more of a positive impact going forward.

It would be nice if we tried to sign someone now with a bit of pace seeing as we'll be losing some on that right side. Walker had to have been our quickest player?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That would be nice wouldn't it although on the big pitch at Wembley I'm not sure Trippier will have a good impact.

Walker was easily out fastest player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll say it again. I wish we were going for Vardy. Would add quality and pace to our team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously you no I'm not a fan of Vardy but we definitely need to add pace into the team now

no one seems to have addressed my comment earlier about walker's awful performances as soon as the question marks about his future came around.......

if his performance level was going to be lower than the standard he set himself, then 50mill plus is great business...

if walker does go, which he will, then that can be the only first team exit, unless the money is truly absurd, I mean absurd like some planks come in with 150mill for Kane, which is just ridiculous and wont happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You would want to sell Kane as well as Walker, even for £150m?

Kane should be kept at all costs. Not going to find a better, ready made replacement anywhere, and I wouldn't trust us to to give it a good go at finding one either.

I can understand if you're not a fan of him as a personality or character, but for his football I can't think of a reason why he'd not be good for us.

Because he relies on running into space behind defences which teams won't leave against us? Plus he'd demand big wages

you telling me you would turn down 150mill for a spurs player? I mean we have some cracking players but the set of players we have haven't won us a thing!!!

anyway, the point being that surely no one is daft enough to offer truly ridiculous money, so walker should be the only exit.

I would turn down 60mill for Dier btw... the offer isn't ridiculous enough.

Walker is by far a better player than Trippier.

One-on-one against a tricky winger Walker is rarely beaten whereas Trippier is often beaten.

We need a quality replacement.

Of course I'd turn it down.

Firstly it would send a horrible message about the sort of club we are, and secondly, we'd only spend it on N'Jie Mark III, IV and V.

Perhaps Hengy would like us to be sold to some rich arabs and we can pay players 300k a week. City have not lost anyone because they pay stupid money to greedy players and are trying to buy the league again It's the only way Jose and pep know. For someone in football Hengy you are pretty clueless about what's going on in football today
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So pep never developed a team before

Let me remind you (again) you was the one that said walker wouldn't be sold what so ever as we aren't a selling club anymore.

So us selling him by your logic makes us a selling club again right?

Yep I would turn down 150 mil for Kane as well. Chronic has always cared more about the balance book than a successful team. It's the accountant in him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But what if he wanted to go you'd accept it right?

to be fair... 150mill used properly you can find yourself a whole load of up and coming harry kanes, and a lot more.

the problem is that our scouting recently has been on the whole quite poor

plus anyone who can afford 150m can probably afford about 300k a week, and im not naïve enough to think that any spurs player wouldn't want to move for that kind of money.

if anyone in here is naïve to think that Kane would turn down that kind of money to stay at spurs then fair enough.

We will always have problems keeping any player until we start matching the wages that the financially doped clubs and United pay.

No players ever ask to leave $ity, because they know they will never get more money elsewhere, just ask Joe Hart.

Agreed, we couldn't replace what he brings for that amount. Mbappe and O.Dembele would tempt me.

None of us know the ins and outs here.

Perhaps Levy said 50m is too good to turn down. It would indeed make us a selling club.

In which case, reports we rebuffed advances for Rose are false. If they are true of course.

Reports are that United are after Dier and we have said no, which would also contradict the selling club line. If true, again.

What if Walker was desperate to go? Pointless keeping him, and then it is about getting the biggest fee. Still a bit 'selly'.

What if Poch absolutely OK'd it? Actively encouraged it if it meant he could re-invest the money? That would not make us a selling club.

Truth is, we do not know
