its going to get messy...

don't really understand how they can legally refuse it when its technically the player paying the buyout

Also can they really pass judgement on PSGs FFP status... they've no authority over a foreign club, likely little knowledge of their accounts etc... surely all they can do is accept the payment and ask UEFA to then investigate

Popcorn time

What a fwcking shambles.

FFP is a joke. An ineffectual pile of piiish. Clubs are happy to pay the fines so until there is a real disincentive then these kind of things will happen.

Neymar wants to go. The buying club are happy to pay and the selling club set the parameters which have now been met.

So what happens now? The league freeze him out of football?

Football is a mess at this level.

Good. 👍

They just want more of a bite of the pie probably. I'm sure a few quid will stay in their account, and everyone will suddenly be ok with it all.

La Liga just being bitter than another league is taking one of their bigger names.

No legal reason to refuse the payment.

So basically, PSG owners pay neymar 300m to be embassador on the terms Neymar buys his own release clause out and joins PSG on a free transfer?

Or am i way off? not really read much on it.

I suppose this is mildly more interesting than last years Pogba saga.

Could be the end of buyout clauses. Didn't Liverpool do something similar with Suarez?

This is all a big mess, we should just send a cheque over and clear this all up.

how much would it take for VVD to buyout his 5 years at SH?

posted on 3/8/17

Isn't itaround the idea that PSG will pay him to be an ambassador and that money will be used to buy out his contract?

I thought this buying out his own contract was all rumour? If La Liga are rejecting an offer from PSG clearly it is.

what? it says la liga rejected a payment from Neymars lawyers didn't it?

I haven’t looked into this in much detail but Sky Sports were reporting the whole deal was worth in excess of £450m – Neymar receiving £70m/£80m per season.

It could well be PSG may breach FFP due to Neymar’s astronomical wages (pushing PSG over the £30m a season loss threshold) rather than the transfer fee itself.

why are Neymars lawyers paying Barca the fee and not PSG?

Just read the article, seems Spanish league is breaking the contract by rejecting the payment. Cant make up the rules and then cry wolf when someone take you up on it.

Did Liverpool actually reject the Suarez buyout that one time or was there just not a buyout in place?

Apparently Suarez didn't have a buyout clause, it was more like a 'this is how much you have to offer to be able to talk to our player but we don't have to sell if we don't want to' clause.

He wanted to leave and he was asked to stay another year, sign a new long term contract and he can go to Barca the following year.

Also, he tried to eat Chiellini @ the world cup, in effect forcing the clubs hand. That incident made a sale that summer inevitable.
