The Transfers Saga

Metro saying Barca think their new offer of 90m 18m improvement will be enough . I'd not only be shocked if that was the case but disappointed i'd expect no less then 130m demand from our owners but would hope they even put 150m+ price tag on him.

Cout is happy at Liverpool, i suspect Barca were only interested to keep Neymar happy hes not exactly a Neymar replacement is he? You'd expect someone like Sanchez, Hazard or Mbappe/Dembele to be more of a replacement.

As for VVD hes still training alone after refusing to train with the team again? Surely they will take the cash and invest in players who want to play for them? Not sure we'll be the only ones interested in him if he does put a transfer request in, still expect Chelsea/City to try their luck.

I strongly suspect that if VVD doesn't get his way over the next week or two, he will put in the transfer request. He surely can't stay now.

A large bid is coming from Barca. Lets see how the club reacts to it. We have been known to accept these kind of offers in the past.

Hoping cfc put a bid in, then gives us the green light to bid again. VVD has continually expressed a desire to join liverpool I expect to see him in a lfc shirt on the last day, the last hour of transfer deadline day.

Saints wont make it easy.

On couts the point here is its too late. Season is less than a week away and I doubt klopp will entertain anything so close to the first game. Its all about watford now, team shape tactics etc and you cant do that if one of your players is sold.

If he wants to go, I think we will do what we did with Suarez and get another season out of him and then let him go early next summer, rather than with less than a week until the league season begins. But unlike with Suarez, Coutinho has not even indicated he wants to go anywhere.

Rumours are they're buying Dembele from Dortmund for 100m euros so can't see they'd have enough to do that and buy Coutinho, even with the £200m from Neymar.

Even if he wants to go and Barca want him, i can't see Barca paying what our owners are going to demand even with that 200m burning a hole. I'll puke if 90m is accepted.

I get it the prem starts on Sat but the transfer window ends over 2 weeks after that. Theres gna be a lot of movement towards the end, i expect teams to come back in for some of our players such as Sakho/Moreno/Markovic which might well be when we make our final bids for players too.

The overall narrative within the media seems to be a negative one in regard to transfers involving Liverpool.
Keita isnt for sale, and Leipzig are not interested, even though others suggest that Leipzig gave indications that they would sell, yet merely used Liverpool's interest as some kind of publicity vehicle.
Similarly with VVD, Southampton were supposedly horrified with Liverpool's behaviour, even though reliable sources say that they were willing to sell VVD at the right price, yet somehow due to Liverpool expressing this interest within the media annoyed them to such an extent, they decided to cry foul to the football authorities.
As for Coutinho, even though in those previous transfer sagas, there is nothing Liverpool can do to stop Southampton and Leipzig retaining these players, or at least in Southamptons case, not selling to Liverpool, strangely there is in this case, nothing Liverpool can do to stop Barcelona taking Coutinho from Liverpool.
Even yesterday the media in the morning were saying we were after a french midfielder, by tea time, Liverpool had been snubbed by said player, whoever he was.

Why cant they buy both? 200m is not a limit for them and they have not done much business this summer so actually have a lot of money to spend.

Spent 40m already, look to be getting Dembele and inigo martinez which will work out around 140m and Coutinho would likely be at least another 150m euros.

Even with the 200m from Neymar that would mean they're spending close to 150m net, and that's assuming they buy no one else.

Looking forward to a time when Messi leaves, and this 'Irresistible Barcelona' b0ll0ck$ is over.
With Neymar gone, Xavi done, Iniesta retiring, Barcas golden period will be well and truly over, and they wont simply be able to trade on the name of their club, to unsettle the most talented players in world football, and will instead, have to line up to get fleeced alongside ever other 'big club'.

Klopp will get no say in the matter if Barcelona offer something way above what the player is worth have no illusions your owners will sell. They are businessmen not supporters.

He could threaten to resign but I doubt that will make a difference.

Klopp has had assurance from the owners that he won't be sold. It would look bad if they went back on that.

No Im not you dont seem to be able to comprehend that they are businessmen. All they care about is their investment. You should know that better than most considering your previous owners.

Our previous owners were terrible. What have they got to do with FSG? If they have told Klopp that he will not be sold, then that is good enough for me.

How do you know they have told him that? Have you heard every single conversation they have had? And even if they had of said that people change their minds. If I had something that was worth £20 that I didnt want to sell but then someone comes in and says I'll give £200 for it I would be mad to turn it down if I think from a business perspective.

The local press reported it, and they are the only news source that I trust other than the club itself.

Can't believe these Twatter rumours spread so far today. So it all started off with Barcelona radio quoting a Bein Sports journalist who they claimed said that Coutinho to Barcelona is a done deal and will be complete within hours. I went onto the Barcelona radio website and it said something like "we report all rumours whether true or not". I then translated a Tweet from the Bein Sports journalist who was apparently quoted. It said something like 'I did not say any of this. A journalist spreading fake news is like a dog chasing his tail'.

So yeah, it's a load of nonsense. As you likely know OP.
