England should let West Indies have a 3rd innings.

West Indies have been in a negative spiral for more than a decade now - not particularly a huge surprise. The same islands which produced some of the greatest ever Cricketers now have athletes who far prefer to play American sports such as Baseball or Basketball or even Football. Mostly due to the more money they can earn.

Michael Vaughn actually suggested a two tier test championship which migt be a decent idea. India recently whitewashed Sri Lanka at home (which has never happened before) and they are suffering from a similar scenario.

Wow England wrap things up on day 3, they took 19 wickets today. Really don't see West Indies challenging in the remainder of the series.

Yawn.. Just looks really boring series!

You weren't saying that when India beat the west-indies..

anyway pretty easy but its bound to be.

Nah Liver, I wasn't so interested in our Windies tour too. Recently we ripped Lankans in their backyard but still I wasn't so excited. I want my team to rip Englund, Aus, SA in their backyards; then I will be real happy & excited 😜

its not gonna happen though

See I don't understand why people start talking about how one sided these matches are when one of so called top teams thrash WI or the likes of SL.

I don't see any difference in this thrashing and one that likes of India have got away or even more recently the one England got in India or for that matter most teams get away from home.

The reality is test cricket has not been competitive for about 5 years now. And just because weaker teams get thrashed more quickly doesn't mean that the so called top teams are any better

Would look to rest cook, broad, Anderson for the rest of the summer and prepare for the ashes. Would pick lyth, woakes and Finn. Livingstone too pick him at 4 ahead of Westley and move root to 3. Livingstone useful back up spin to moeen.

Finn? are you high?!

posted on 20/8/17

the last time Finn went to Australia he was sent home because he wasn't ready to be able to play.

Finn is way out contention at international level...plenty of bowlers ahead of him now...will probably stay in county cricket now..

Woakes confirmed to play tomorrow ahead of Roland-Jones..which is fine havem't got a problem it..however before the first test, the selectors said he wasn't included because he hadn't had enough match pratice...well he hasn't played since those comments were made but now he is somehow okay to play..

posted on 24/8/17

Did they say match practice or did they say they felt he wasn't ready? It's quite vague but it might mean they wanted to be a bit more careful with him before he came back into the side despite playing a game for Warks.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow!

Joe Root is doing well at the coin toss. Over to Cook and Stoneman.

Windies have a better bowling line up this time with Gabriel back in for Cummins and Bishoo in for Joseph. Gabriel and Roach will be a decent test first up and Bishoo at least offers a better spin option and gives Chase someone to work in tandem with.

Not saying this will change the outcome but it should at least give our batsmen a bit more to think about.

Gabriel removes Cook with a decent delivery on what looks like a flat and slow pitch. This has been a much better start by the Windies, despite getting 2 early wickets last week, they're bowling a lot better and tighter today.
