Lacazette is a good signing but goals were never really the problem.
From watching tonight it looks Wenger continues to address issues from previous seasons.
I expect a title challenge. Place two of Merts, Kos, Mustafi or Gabriel in that back 3 and we would have won by 3 or more goals today.
So long as we get them back quickly (and don't lose any key players), I'm very confident for this season.
Surely it's Arsenals title going on what Wenger said about Chelsea having it easy last season due to no Champions League. Well if he sabotages Europey League by playing kids then the Prems in the bag. Arrogant twot

But we have Europa, so no comparison...
Honestly....I expect a lot of suffering like the other saisons. We must sort out the defense.
It was a really enjoyable game.
I've never had a problem with games like today even if we had lost.
The desire and fast movement of the ball was mostly there.
It's the turgid, gutless and slow performances (even if we fluke a 1-0) that I hate. There's has been way too many of them over the past few years and you can often guess they're coming from the starting line up chosen.
once the contract was signed moaning became a pointless exercise. Still, I reserve the right to vent from time to time, it's healthy.
Two years, then maybe we can expect a title challenge, till then it's just entertainment.
I will try OP but as entertaining as today's game was, it was a little reminder that we should probably be prepared for our season to pan out the same way it always does. And knowing how the script finishes is most certainly not entertaining.
A solid top 4 finish with a couple of good performances away from home against the big boys, along with a successful Europa League campaign, and I will be happy(/ier).
Defence has to improve massively for title challenge. Not judging too much as we have 3 better CBs out. But no one looked like they wanted to defend. Really looks like defending is an after thought with our team. It's been the same for ages. We'll improve with mert mustafi and kos, but even with them we still look below par in defence.
From an Arsenal perspective it was pure torture to watch.
