Seems expensive for what is essentially Wimmer's replacement

Unless of course we're preparing early for Toby's inevitable departure in the near future

Ted...........I think Janssen will come good, and apparently he is popular with the team.

Analog ... STOP giving me a heart attack. Toby has got to get a new contract! I'll bet he and Rose have been chatting.

Yeh, that makes sense. He works his socks off all over the pitch. And he's a very good player. Just not yet hitting the net.

We highlighted hjm as the weak link in playing the ball out when we played Ajax. Looked very poor when pressed but had good recovery speed. One game doesn't mean much so can't judge on that, but it's interesting that his distribution was highlighted as a weakness for us to exploit given this reputation as a ball player. I think Pochettino is good at coaching defenders, however, so could be a good signing.

Still think he would be a great addition to our team.

Not getting too excited though, not until the club announces it

This guy was Lacazette's b*tch in the Europa League in Lyon last season

How did Lyon get on?

I had to google him therefore he is an unacceptable signing for Spurs

If this is for real, I think it means us using 3 at the back as the regular way.

We are quite weak at centreback in terms of depth for that way of playing - if we want to go three at the back an injury to either Dier or Wanyama throws a real spanner in the works. Players shifted, balance out of kilter. CCV is not yet the answer.

Another RCB and we have real options and depth.

Apparently Levy is in Amsterdam and opened talks yesterday which will continue over the weekend

I really don't understand some people on here. Sanchez is going to be as good as Toby in a couple of years time.

People moan and moan about no signings, then moan because we are signing someone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gonna be as good as Toby?based on all two games you have seen of him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have actually seen Sanchez on at least 4 occasions and he looks a very good player indeed.

Sometimes it is easy to spot when someone has got that something extra in them.

His passing is reminiscent of Toby's, both find players with 30-40 yard passes. He is good on the ball and can also score goals. In terms of pace then he is quicker than Toby, so yes I think within a couple of years and under Poch he could be up there with Toby, who I think is the best defender currently in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He wasn't good on the ball in the EL final which is why Mourinho targeted him when he was on the ball

Why does it seem like we've gone into a summer window with no transfer targets in mind? We get near to when the season starts and then identify targets, is that how it is?

Bid rejected apparently! They're gonna offer him a new contract. So depressing!!!!

And this is what happens when you wait until the end of the window. Why are Spurs the only club that finds it impossible to get transfers over the line easy? Every other club target a player and get him. Spurs seem to have obstacles in our way every single time we go for someone.

The way it works is the big hitters come in first chucking wads of cash about and when the feeding frenzy dies down and agents see their clients aren't gonna go for big bucks the lesser clubs move in (I reckon this is where Pochs' quote "this is our time" applies).

Have to say I'm totallyabout the whole thing.

Been left out of the match day squad for Ajax tonight. Very interesting and clearly something going on.

News coming through is that he has agreed to join us and personal terms also agreed. Now it's down to Ajax.

Ted, remember we signed both Eriksen and Jan from Ajax
