Just seen the highlights from Saturday. Shocking defending for both goals. So much for building from the back eh!
Great to see Bonatini grab the ball after his equaliser looking to get a quick start to go on to win the game. Not satisfied with just a point.
Dicko wasted a good chance late-on.
Hopefully NES will have a plan B if teams have already figured out how to nullify our midfield.

You should have seen Jota, fetching the ball for the keeper whenever it went out after we equalised.

I see you're terrible at prediction competitions now Cinci.

Horrific start tam, wheels fell off three quarters of the way through last season. I blame lack of gambling these days for my losing touch

I lose interest too quickly to ever be good at it. I start off every season really enthusiastically, but after a few weeks doing predictions feels like a chore.

Fair play to people like bannoram who obviously devote a lot of time to it. Fecking losers.

Can't pull the wool over his eyes:

"Mistakes cost us, says Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo following Wolves' defeat against Cardiff City".

Please don't adopt the Paul Lambert mode of stating the bleeding obvious, Nuno.

Not much else he could say really, despite all the talk of a master class from Cardiff and the genius of Neil Warnock we could have won the game but for a few defensive lapses.

If that is us getting schooled then we are going to have a very good season.

Does get boring after a few weeks. Wolfie should introduce some cheerleader videos and provide rare steaks or something.

What feckin moron suggested that Cardiff's win was a 'master class'? A master class in what? None football? how to win free kicks by simulation? How to target certain players to get them penalised? How to assault opposition players off the ball? Time wasting? How to brown nose the referee to get him to side with you?
Cardiff did all of those things on saturday and due to their disgusting tactics they won the game. If they had just tried to play football they would have got hammered. I know it, you know it, and that revolting slug Warnock knows it.

Completely agree gem

Thing is we need to pretend the championship is more wily than any other league and teams like Porto have never faced similar actions.

I didn't see the match, GeminMallorca, however I could have told you on Friday that Cardiff would play that way. If I realised this and I'm sure that posters on this and other forums knew likewise, how come NES didn't realise it? If he did, how come he didn't prepare his side to overcome these tactics?
I'm by no means defending Cardiff and the way that they played, however their "tactics" won the day and as others have pointed out on here, every manager in the Championship will have seen how to beat "big spending, favourites for the title", Wolves.
NES needs to have a plan B when confronted by such "disgusting tactics", to use your words. I hope that Saturday was a wake-up call that he needs.

Additionally, Saturday was not the first time that Wolves got "bullied". Shrewsbury and Peterborough both played the same way in pre-season. Did NES and Wolves learn nothing from those games?

Agree with comments re Warnock and Cardiff, but also think Marlene is spot on. Everyone knew how they would play, including Nuno, which is a bit worrying. He either didn't have a plan Bor, more likely, the players failed to implement it.

Far more visiting teams will play like Cardiff and fewer will play like Middlesborough. Be prepared for some very frustrating home games to come.

plan B

posted on 21/8/17

Mind you even though many visiting teams will play like Cardiff, most of them won't have players as good as they had.

Do people not think teams tried to bully Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield last season?

Plenty of lesser teams will adopt this tactic, most will fail.

The real difference to me was that Cardiff can play this way but also do have some genuine quality up front.

That said, do I think they will finish above us? Not a chance.

Technically all those sides played a different style of football to us.

Newcastle are just a good Championship team - evidenced by their start in the Premier League.

Brighton only had a solid spine with a couple of creative wingers and a goalscoring striker in Murray. There wasn't anything special about them, other than Knockaert who is too good for this level.

Didn't really see much of Huddersfield, but I think they played 4-4-2 also, with a solid spine.

The difference being, all of those were difficult to bully as they could mix it up too. Difficult to bully people like Steve Sidwell, Dale Stephens, Jonjo Shelvey, Jack Colback, Mo Diame, Jonathan Hogg, Dean Whitehead etc. in the middle of the park.

We look easy to bully, which is the worry. I trust Nuno to come up with a plan B though. Hopefully just a bit of a learning curve.

I do think we have a tough spine though and a nasty streak, it just didn't work out on this day but it will work out in many others.
