Jimmy, you're right that Mourinho's trying to tell the world how clever he is, but he wasn't simultaneously trying to put Lukaku above Coutinho.
In fact, I'd say that in trying a bit too hard to point out his genius, he inadvertently compared a Liverpool player favourably to one of his own.
He said Coutinho would've fetched 101M "pre-Neymar". Lukaku went for 75M in that time. So who's he saying has a higher transfer value?
He also says Lukaku now would cost 150. By rule of thumb, what he's implied is that it would now take over 200M to prise Coutinho off Liverpool.
As much as his acolytes try to pass off his every word as part of some superior being's master plan, sometimes Jose's not quite as smart as he or they like to think.
