Amazing that, given your conduct on here and other threads, you have the audacity to say I am the one that kills threads off.

You really are that deluded, aren't you?

Incredible.

" I keep on checking it to see if it's gone back on topic!"

It had gone back on topic, before LQ derailed it again.

I like Sterling I just wish he had that selfish streak he still shows indecision in the area.

Links up well with sane.

He tends to shin allot of his shots on goal LQ, but is a very talented lad.

Better to be in aposition to fluff a shot on goal than to never get the chance to.

He need to keep playing high risk football. For a few reasons, his confidence isn't the same as it was a few years ago. I like him a lot too.

He's a pace player I think he's the type the manager needs to put an arm around, he's saved us some points this season already.

Really glad we signed him.

Given the inflated market do you think his price is more justifiable.

You agreed with it, you plank.

I always thought his price was about right tbh, given his age and potential.

Wisnton we are trying to talk about Sterling here stop killing this thread will you.

Of course I agreed with it you are doing it now.

Now shhhhh or fack off!

Melton considering we haven't paid any addons yet it looks a hell of a lot better than at first, should we win the league or champions league then it really would look money well spent.

He's has kicked on under pep but still needs that selfish streak that goal scorers have, he could bag a lot more but then so could David Silva.

He gets unfair stick as does Stones.who I believe could develop into a world class centre half

Fish, it could well have been as he was sent home and told not to train yesterday or the day before. He must have been sick missing that golden opportunity whe nit was 0-0, he really needs to be scoring that! Seems to be a bit of a fluff finisher, needs 3 chances to get 1, still as long as he is getting into the positions then hopefully more composure comes, similar to Sterling in that respect.

How do you feel Sterling has done so far City? I really liked him at Liverpool, really wanted him to stay, think he has it all to be a top player (finishing isn't great but that can be worked on), he's a naturally intelligent player, seems ot just know where to be on the pitch in many circumstances, he's got serious competition for a place in your first 11 when all fit though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was worried when he broke through but for some reason Ederson gives me confidence. Watching it back he got off his line quickly and narrowed the angle. I think there was a covering defender coming in behind so it might have ended up being cleared off the line anyway.

He and Mane were definitely a threat. I like Mane. He has all the attributes to be a top player. He was starting to grow into the game and become a real threat until that unfortunate incident, leading to his red card.

As for Sterling. I find him something of an enigma. He wasn't particularly impressive in his first season. he was very inconsistent and seemed to lack confidence or direction.

Last season the difference was there for all to see. he was still inconsistent but he seemed to know what he was supposed to be doing and his performances and confidence seemed to be visibly improving because of it.

Overall, the lad still has a lot to learn. He isn't the finished article but I genuinely believe he can achieve a lot at City and possibly beyond.

Say what you like about him but since he came to City, his goals and assists ratio are comparable with De Bruyne's.

If you were to equate his contribution in terms of goals and assists over 300 games, he would have way more goals than Silva and slightly fewer assists.

Make of that what you will.

Completely agree, Stones in particular. He has the double whammy of people not watching and assessing him fairly and also being in an attacking team that will make defending far harder than if he was somewhere else. In our system, where he is the first line of attack as much as everything else, I think he will be great

I think the players being discussed are all part of the long term plan that has been underway since 2008. I expect within these next few seasons the youth now embedded within the squad will blossom into a considerable cohesive football force to take on all-comers. Am really enjoying the journey.

Players get written off far too easily these days, Stones is a prime example. In his position, and being asked to play how Pep want's him to is a very difficult thing for a centre back to do, especially one so young, he needs to make the mistakes he does to learn.

Overanalysed the players are every mistake blown out of proportion.

Plus a bit of press bias, they do love a pantomime villain, we have had Beckham willshere now it's Sterling and stones is copping for a bit of it.

And unfairly too.

Load sof examples of it, I remember many united fans calling for Evra and Vidic to be dropped and not played again after a bad start.

I would have sold Emre Can 18 months ago no problem.

Easy to just dismiss a player, it's harder to actually be logical and patient, patience is dead in modern football.

Agreed, instant success or you are doomed, once the pundits smell blood in the water that's it.

The only thing you can do is your best.
