Quote from the program earlier by Cloughie: ‘Derby were the better team’.

Nothing changes then.

It’s a ‘Football’ town. Nottingham never will be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a 'first love' feeling that Cloughie had with Derby, you never forget that first girlfriend. The excitement, grabbing kisses, a bit of fingering when your mum wasn't looking. But then comes the inevitable acrimonious split, she wants to get serious, wants you to start taking her places and buying her things that you don't necessarily agree with.

After playing the field with a dirty girl and maybe 'experimenting' in Brighton, you settle down and have your life partner, with whom you have many trophies, or kids as they are known, and you are content. But you always look back with a tinge of what would have been.
The ex-girlfriend was never the same though, turned into a bit of a slag.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
More like tried to seduce a girl who was way out of his league, got slapped, and went to a sh!thole like Brighton.

No. I was correct, dirty filthy slapper, that only got men by cheating.

Trust that clears it up

Strett

If a snowflake is a person who doesn't vote for congenital idiots like Trump I would be proud to be called a snowflake. Is it inter breeding that makes you say such things?

Leeds was just too big a club. Clough undoubtedly did well with small clubs and giving them some time in the sun, but Leeds were already a club at the top of the game, and he couldn't handle that.

There were lots of other jumps he couldn't handle either. Better players, bigger expectations, fans more used to the best etc

What sexist things did I say, Spart.
Just curious what you class as being sexist.

Also are you the type that yells 'racist' at every opportunity too?

posted on 11/10/17

So using words like "slag" and "slapper" to describe women isn't sexist then Strett. Probably not in your lower middle class, middle aged golf club world, but with normal people it is. Note there are no equivalent male derogatory terms.

Offence is taken, not given. If someone finds those terms offensive it is their fault.

If you, a man that has lived through the 70s, find those terms offensive I suggest you keep off the internet and read The Guardian.

posted on 11/10/17

Total and utter nonsense. Don't try and excuse your blatant sexism. The term "slag" is an offensive term, unless you are referring to the solidified flux in blast furnaces or coal waste, I can't think of any cases where it is not used as an offensive term.

posted on 11/10/17

surely it's only sexist if Strett is meaning all women and not just making a general allagrey (if that's even the right word).

Thought the Brian Clough thing was pretty funny and original for a tree

It's Ok to call you thicko Strett, it's just called being honest.

Derbymanc, what a lot of drivel. Is OK to use the N word when referring to some black people or all black people?
What's an allagrey? Is it where you have a reaction when in contact with old people?

I'm not around/connected to the internet on Sunday, so some one else needs to write the Forest Match Thread.

Looking at how this thread is headed, leaving it unmoderated all day won't be wise!

'Then, on 3 September 1972, after the team had defeated Liverpool 2–1 at the Baseball Ground, Clough criticised the Derby County fans, stating that "They started chanting only near the end when we were a goal in front. I want to hear them when we are losing. They are a disgraceful lot".

On the money again Mr Clough. Disgraceful indeed
