The Tories will start polling better as soon as they put a white male as leader.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Take a step back for a moment, and it’s absolutely shocking that that’s probably the best way for them to quickly recoup a significant chunk of the votes they’ve lost to Reform - just pick any white, middle-aged man to lead the party.
But here we are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh yeah, its shocking. Badenoch is terrible, but if a white male were just as bad they would probably poll higher.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Her best punchline that she mostly uses is "look at them larffing..."
Not exactly zinger material.
I must add that it would need to be a heterosexual white male.

The Eaton lot grow up playing doggy biscuit and pig fvcking, it’s in their DNA along with being chinless.
Heath was so gay
It wasnt a big secret
The fact that Reform have ridiculous, uncosted policies won’t matter a jot if the main parties don’t come up with a strategy to deal with their threat.
Look at Trump.
Farage is a skilled campaigner and the people he appeals to won’t care if a policy is fully costed - he will lock in on the soundbites that resonate with the electorate.
People really need to get past this idea that just because most well educated people see through them, that they’re unelectable.
IMO Starmer should stop trying to fight them at their own game and start focusing on discrediting their history.
Farage has been allowed to get away the car crash of Brexit because most of the main parties are too scared to talk about it.

I’d suggest they’d be better off ignoring Reform completely, rather than giving the media additional opportunities to talk about them, and instead focus on talking about positive, constructive and progressive policies they’re implementing - on improving the heath service, on homebuilding, on improving opportunities for young people, on wages and working conditions, on energy independence and the green transition, on rebuilding our relationship with Europe - which will resonate with their base and ensure they don’t haemorrhage votes to the Greens and Lib Dems.
Shift the narrative. There are facking myriad policy areas more important than bloody small boats and the level of English that visa applicants speak. Stop allowing yourselves to be distracted, baited and corralled, and take control of the conversation.
Next time I’m home and I overhear anyone complaining about small boats or refer to the asylum seekers they carry as ‘illegal immigrants’, I’m gonna start swinging, I swear.

We can bring you more on the suspect now.
The BBC understands Paul Doyle is a local businessman and father-of-three.
Those poor kids of his are gonna get absolutely tortured because of their cuuunt of a dad
They were never going to get attempted murder to stick, so I’m not surprised that is off the list.
If I made a speech about how great Spurs are and referred to how $hit Arsenal are 16 times when the questions from the press came I would expect to be asked if Arsenal were living rent free inside my head.
That's the thing that never ceases to amaze me about Starmer, when asked this today it was like he hadn't expected it at all. Even the Guardian journalist was asking him why he's obsessed with Farage/Reform and he looked like a rabbit in the headlights.
Is he stupid or so arrogant that he thinks nobodies noticed?
Focus on Starmer rather than what Starmer said, seen it all before, difficult questions to answer, deflect, boringly repetitive because it works, gets the acolytes fizzing..
Farage and Tice are normally attention whoors, surely they're not acting all coy now?

Starmer certainly lives rent free inside your head.
I personally think labelling Farage as Truss 2.0 is a lovely line and they are right to go on the attack.
UK politics is as much about positioning vs the opposition as it is about presenting your own policies (sadly).
It’s not as if Farage doesn’t spend his time attacking the government, is it?
I’m sure the people of England feel less scared now a middle class white father of three who lives in a cul de sac in suburbia committed a terror attack. So the daily mail tells me.
Maybe he was having an off day 😬
There’s absolutely no suggestion at this stage that this was a terror attack, so that’s a stupid thing to say.
Russia has continued to make billions from fossil fuel exports to the West, data shows, helping to finance its full-scale invasion of Ukraine – now in its fourth year.
Since the start of that invasion in February 2022, Russia has made more than three times as much money by exporting hydrocarbons than Ukraine has received in aid allocated by its allies.
