SINGAPORE: Foreigners caught vaping will risk being deported and banned from re-entering the country under measures that will start from the 1st of September.

Bit excessive

Wait til you hear about their tolerance to chewing gum then...

Fun fact - I actually ran an e-liquid business and felt quite proud I helped a lot of people give up smoking. And I still maintain that casual vaping is much much better than smoking if you just can’t not do either.

However .. and I can’t speak about England - but here in Australia vaping has gotten crazy big and I’m not even sure people even smoked before. Every single person, man or woman, old or young has those new vape cartridges. They were even banned but almost every high street tobacconist store sells them. To say it’s an epidemic is an understatement.

Look at the way Cinci talks about violent crime in America compared to England because of his anecdotal evidence, when we know America is far worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost impossible to compare in honesty. So very very different lifestyles. Theft and robbery is higher in the UK apparently. The US of course has the homicide issue and guns which is of course a disgrace but it isn't as cut and dried as that when you delve into all crime.

Far more likely to get battered on a night out in the UK than the US but then you are more likely to get shot on that night out in the US than the UK.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cinci, I played basketball in Boston and New York in the latish 80s, we were told by the other teams to stay out of certain districts in both cities or we would be in bother but the city centre areas we went to were calmer and felt less threatening than when we up town in our citys so I get your point, luckily there were no gun incidents and we did see a few fights but nothing as bad as were used to locally
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah inner city areas can certainly be dangerous. I used to drink in Over-the-Rhine, regarded as one of the most dangerous areas in the entire United States, never saw a single issue but then I am sure the hype was real. Also partied hard in NYC very regularly and again, nothing. not even a single bar fight. Then in my home town in the UK I saw a brawl just about every single night I went out and that was probably 500-600 nights out.

But like i said, really it is impossible to compare either country on such things as they are so very different.

You could probably party in Rio every night and never see violence but I am pretty sure it isn't a safe city.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on what you mean by safe.

By your standards, I'd probably agree Rio isn't safe for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably safer now than when I was there in the late 70s.
Armed soldiers all over the city.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The 70s is what you're basing your opinion on?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No.I'm saying having armed troops all over the city was "probably" more dangerous than it is now.
Like what's happening with ICE, National Guard, Marines in major cities in US is making that country more dangerous. IMO.
Is that okay,sir?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes my saan.

Do you think the smoking ban we’ve put in place here is a bad idea then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In pubs, yes. In most other places, no.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What other places should you be able to smoke?

We are not far away from major civil disorder," Farage said at a press conference. "It is an invasion, as these young men illegally break into our country".

I know this is a few days old and is chip paper today but he's raging there hasnt been major civil disorder this summer isn't he, trying like a ba****d to stir it up.

The conspiracy theory which the likes of Farage are a couple of news cycles away from using I’ve seen alllll over social media is that all the immigrants are actual operatives who are sent to take over the United Kingdom for the global world order cabal or whatever they’re called these days. These fighting age men will take over and after that it’s sketchy what the aim
Is. Maybe usher in a new world order.

And while that’s all ridiculous these days ridiculous ain’t what it used to be when it comes to claims by mainstream right wing politicians

Token gesture, there will be plenty of independent arms dealers there hoping to make a few quid out of Israel

I didn’t realise it was an international arms fair where other countries could sell their weapons.

Good move by the Government
