When you're 7 points clear (at the moment) with players all over the park scoring goals, why waste money on a player we don't need right now. I'd rather we spent the money on securing the services of our loan players.

If you're going to get another striker in, he must be better than what we have now or there's no need to get one. Might as well get Clarke back, if we're going for second best.

We have great momentum going at the moment and I for one would hate to see anything disrupted in January by getting anymore players in. If for some reason Bonatini get's crocked before hand then sure, buy one, but for now I'd go with this squad for the rest of the season and spend big if we go up.

Just my reasoning.

what if leo gets injured wolfie? even for say five games?

But what if he doesn't? Like I said if he get's an injury before the end of January, then fine. But if he's injury free after that, what's the point, as we'll be well on our way to promotion, hopefully. Plus if he does get injured after January, we have cover, as the rotation Nuno has going on now up front is working.

But you had 5-0 Sir Halfy. Your nemesis was close too. He had us winning 6-1.

Can't say it makes much sense to me, you are saying that if he does get injured pre january we should get cover but if he doesn't then we should risk not having cover the next four months.

for the record i am positive we will add a forward in the style of leo and also cover for doherty in january

Don't worry about him, he'll have dropped out by Xmas

Nuno has this squad on fire at the moment, so why disrupt it by adding a player to challenge Bonatini? And who will we get that's better and we have to get better or there's no point? Just asking.

Better to wait until we get up. Then we can buy big and possibly better strikers as the money will be there.

Neves out for the Blouse match after picking up his 5th yellow as I understand it. Who should replace him as we haven't got a like for like replacement?
Price and Ronan play in a similar position but are no where near as good. Price plays more defensively and Ronan a little wider. N'Diaye is more suited to the Saiss role.
I think NES will opt for Price, but Neves will be missed, whoever deputises.

As for whether we sign an additional forward (s) in January, I think everyone in the world with the exception of wolfieinthesunshinestote knows that we will so it's hardly worth debating for the 100th time.

Not the best, but all the goals. Cav's fantastic and "route 1" for Jotas.

All getting a bit too good to be true at the moment. We were playing on a different planet to Bolton with good performances throughout the team. Neves giving a masterclass in midfield, Jota and Bonatini both excellent but Cavaleiro man of the match with his best game for Wolves

The general consensus on MM is that we didn't play at our best today. "We didn't get out of second gear" to quote some. Yet we still won quite convincingly.

I hear these types of comments a lot "weren't at our best", "won while playing badly" etc....

While it's fantastic to win in such circumstances; why are we not playing consistently well? Probably only played up to our own high standards about 4 or 5 times this season.

Genuine question, not a WUM.

Personally felt we played well within ourselves but had those extra few gears when needed, Bolton didn't do too badly either i didn't think but as with most of our performances it was the control of midfield that made the difference, Saiss and Neves EASILY the best midfield pair we have had since the eighties.

Yes, that's what a lot are saying; played within ourselves, didn't get out of second gear etc... But why?

Is it the number of matches (around 2 a week) that means we don't turn it on enough? Is it that we haven't really gelled yet? Is it the old chestnut about foreigners not being able to contend with the heavy English pitches?
Genuinely interested as to why we are playing below potential more often than not.

Think it is just the international mentality quite often, pacing the game and so on, nullifying the game and conserving energy for the marathon not the sprint.
