I still think Pena is guff tho he was near enough thru on goal at one point yesterday and he just froze . He’ll score goals if you get him crosses into box but just doesn’t seem to offer much else. So slow on the ball. Just not suited to pace of our game I don’t think

Strange one to start Bates ahead of Cardoso but it worked and Cardoso was good when he came on, for me Cardoso should be further up the pecking order than Bates or Wilson.

All our CB's have played well recently though so that bodes well.

Pena is still not fully fit it's December

Improving though, clear to see in his head he's a yard ahead of most players but to be truly effective for us he needs to get to peak fitness.

Herrera doesn't have anything about him, he's the most used sub but has given us nothing. Would push Hardie infront of him.

I agree the tempo of our game doesnt suit him, but you can learn to deal with that. Plenty of players have had to adjust to the pace of our game. Iv said from day 1 that he (Pena) has a better footballing "brain" than pretty much all of our players, i just think he lacks the sharpness and fitness and possibly application/desire to then apply this on the field.

I wonder if Cardosos injury was a factor - maybe worried about the physical aspect of the game

Possibly del, who knows. I’d have thought his fitness can’t really be used now so many months after he signed but possibly his application could be, tho again he should really be over that now if he wants a future at the club .

When he joined I defo had the feeling that he was one of those players that had made his money from football, and was just still playing to top his bank account up and lost his desire hunger for the game.

Journos recycle the same old guff when they don't know what's going on - which is often. Pena obviously has ability and could be valuable in the right role. Candeias has done well. Cardoso has done OK overall, jury still out for me. Herrera looks OK, hasn't had a run of starts. Alves has done well, as we saw at home to Aberdeen. Morelos is a good player even if he had gone a while without scoring.

Herrera is a big guy, who looks like he should be a target man but doesnt know how to use his body, I wouldnt have him in the squad to be fair. He is useless IMO.
