Analysis of Celtic's League Season so far

The overall potential and quality of the squad may well have improved a little, but the performances have dropped off significantly.

What we need it's a proper challenge to push us further.

Mon bears, get with it.

Show

Interesting that, for all the stick our goalkeeper and defenders get on here and social media (from myself included) our goals conceded average is better/lower than last season, albeit only slightly

I follow this guy on Twitter
Fookin polis should be following him
I’d be digging his garden up
Some folk care too much

Didn't look at the link to I'd read this.

Man this guy has WAY to much time on his hands. What a huge number of words to say nothing more than what is obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse.

PS - Zachs
Why do you follow this guy?

Zach

My main reason for not heading up to Glasgow was that my to fellow travellers weren't able to go, for different reasons. However, I must confess that, as I went out for the morning paper, it felt like the fooking Ice Age and was grateful that the decision not to go had been made

I’ll be at the game today. Don’t expect a big crowd and expect it will be a tad chilly

I’m off to the gym shortly for a run. Fvck running on that ground today. I like my ankles

Was out with Liam last night and he’s binning it as well
Also I assume it’s not in the book so extra cost at an already expensive time if year
Won’t see me mocking if it’s @20k tiday that’s be decent imo

Zach - you're correct, it's not in the season book, but I'm in the Home Cup Ticket Scheme so I got debitted £15 for it. no biggie as that has gone and I'll still save on petrol, beers etc.Worth being on the HCTS so first in the queue for Hampden games, no need to worry about the hassle of purchasing Euro tickets

Not at the WUM here, STB

But I do think Celtic have regressed this season.

I think Dembele is having '2nd Season Syndrome', Gordon is beginning to become a liability, Brown is no longer dominating midfields like he used to, Tierney is going through a real bad patch and Forrest (despite having a great 1st half of the season) seems to be fading out.

Dembele has been injured then not had a proper run in the team

Gordon is as good as he always was. His footwork is as bad as it always was

Brown still runs it for us

Tierney has had 1 or 2 poor games only

Forrest has had 1 or 2 poor games

But then I watch all of our games

What is missing IMO is a spark. The undefeated run became a hindrance. Good attacking football became the expected norm so all mistakes get highlighted.

I don’t think we’ve regressed but I don’t think we’ve progressed yet this season

M72 - Don't disagree, mate. Football is a game where we all have our opinions, which we are perfectly entitled to. The good thing about that blog is that he produces, analyses and articulates substantive hard data about team and player performance to then explain where we are currently at and why

Anyone can still disagree with that explanation, of course (or state that it is the bleeding obvious)
