We definitely don't have the players for a 4-4-2. If you're doing it to get Laca and Auba together then you're effectively asking Ozil and Mhki to play out wide and track back etc which is wasting their attacking talents.

If forced, I'd probably go with;

Cech
Bellerin Koscielny Mustafi Monreal
Ramsey Elneny Wilshere Ozil
Lacazette Aubameyang

Obviously this leaves out Mhki but having him and Ozil on the wings would be way worse than shunting Auba or Laca out there in a 4-2-3-1.

I could see a front three of Ozil-Laca-PEA if we ever went for a flat 4-3-3.

We'd still have enough jack-of-all-trades midfielders to fill out the rest of midfield.

Wenger will probably play

It will be similar to the post Henry era. The midfield of Flamini, Rosicky, Hleb and Cesc. Then Adebayor and Eduardo/RvP up front.
Now it will be Xhaka/Elneny, Mkhi, Wilshere/Ramsey, and Ozil with Auba and Laca up front.
