Isco is a decent shout if Hazard goes to Madrid. I think he’s younger, and better, than Mahrez.

Mahrez sulked himself out of a Summer move to the blues, if the news is to be believed.

I think Isco is too popular with Madridistas.
More chance with Marco Asensio, who looks like an incredible prospect and is young enough to accept the challenge of fighting for his place, whereas Isco would rightly demand to be first choice x

mancWoohoo - Well, I wouldn't fancy him as a member of the squad if his form meant that he wasn't a guaranteed starter.

Now that I've considered this, it occurs that the last minute scramble for Mahrez, means that perhaps Silva has requested a summer move to Spain, which in the circumstances would be understandable.

If it came to that perhaps Isco is a good shout x

Don't think Spanish Dave will leave us just yet.

If Hazard does go to Madrid, someone has to leave.

Besides Zidane, which players could leave that are worth it?

Bale except for his British problems. That is that he gets injured far to frequently as do many skilled British players of his and previous generations. Were they trained too hard when too young? Am not sure but look at Arsenal, City and the 2000's, a lot of promising players have had continued injury problems.

I wouldn't touch Mahrez or his agent with a barge pole.

I think we may get an Isco story a week until the summer when he signs an extension contract to stay just where he is but for more money. Mahrez seems to be acting like a total c--t worse than Ronaldo when he wanted his dream move to a club with ambition in Madrid.I think that Merlin will recognise that City have done the right thing in their treatment of him and stay for a few years yet. Fred is one I can see the sense of, and Yaya will free some space for a salary in the summer, which may help keep Foden and Diaz happy too.Not sure much else is needed tbh, a big name striker in a year or so as Kun heads towards retirement in Argentina, it is a young squad now and could easily spend 5 years together as a unit.

Since being reported that Mahrez was "on strike" from day one, I didn't want to go anywhere near him with that attitude.

Quite a few people I talk to think Sergio will leave in the Summer.

His body language isn't 'quite right' and I don't think the way he's being played suits his talents.

If Mahrez was on strike from day one then your right manc...
however if it is depression, as he's claimed, and he does have a Dr's note then there isn't a damn thing the club can or indeed should do. In fact there is a part on me that thinks clubs use the sick note as means of getting players out of international duty so as far as I'm concerned they have set a precedent for players doing exactly the same thing.
Its also not just football if any rugger fans start feeling smug. Bloodgate and the French use of "Le 'ead injury" when a players limping off with a bugged knee.

Bad!! I thought he had an agreement that City would support his move back to Argentina at the end of his contract

In reluctant defence of Mahrez, we don't know what he was promised in terms of the required transfer fee to release him.
If for example, when Leicester turned down a £32m bid despite that he requested a transfer, they told him they wanted £60m for him; I could understand his disillusion at the hopelessness of his situation etc etc.

Also it should be noted and perhaps commended that he hasn't dishonestly angled for a transfer while holding out for a loyalty fee; unlike most players he has been straightforward and honest about his intentions x

Good point X.
No, I wouldn’t know the ins and outs. However, a contract is written and signed in good faith. The minimum would be to stay professional and honour it. Sulking closed the door to his apparent “dream move”.
