Any decent team COULD win it. But it takes a tremendous amount of luck.

And bottle. You agent likely to win it playing how Chelsea did last night.

In response to the OP, on paper he's that would be a good season. However 2nd in the league usuakly emplies a title challenge and decent football.

Imagine had we played Barca last night at home and we dropped Lukaku.......the press would have a field day on Jose wouldn't they?

If we played Barca at home Jose should drop Lukaku if we are honest.

Thats the problem with being the biggest club in the country. Lets be honest has Lukaku been that much better than Morata (ex a few powder puff goals Vs relegation fodder..... Not really. I'm shocked Jose hasn't given Rashford a few games as a pure CF. Might send a message to Lukaku that he's far from the finished article despite the price tag

It depends on how we play. Getting knocked out by say Bayern in a humdinger is acceptable, losing to them in two boring one nil losses is not, to me, anyway.
So top 3 in the league, Cup final, some exciting games is a good season imo.

Sadly, I think instead of getting Lukaku, we should have given Rashford and Martial and chance up top with one on the left and brought in a RWF. Now we're lumbered with Lukaku, who I think will never really be top class and gold back Rashford in reaching his potential.

I'd play Rashford this week vs Chelsea. He terrified them last year and was a big reason we beat them at home. Gave them a scare in FA cup too.

I would take 2nd if we win the Fa Cup but it depends who we get in CL QF if we make it and how we go out lol.

Having said that I hope Mourinho history repeats itself after winning europa league/uefa cup he goes onto win the CL the following season.

I look at PSG and they are not great. Real Madrid are the biggest threat as they are so confident in the CL.

PSG v Manchester United would be a bloodbath for you, don't kid yourself they are on a planet you's are still viewing via a telescope.

i think man utd will have to re-define what a good season is nowadays biggest team or not. too much quality in the league to think that just because you pump big money into the team you're going to win something.
what happened to citys treble?

You won't win anything.

Probably get hammered in Seville later.

With this squad; 2nd in the league would be a notable acheivement. More down to CFC giving up so early in the season, but even so.

As the formbook suggests United are the best team left in the FA cup, not winning it would be a bit silly. But it is a cup competition, so who knows.

I am also a bit 'old school' when it comes to the FA Cup and the club needs to get their record back. Especially as one of those cheating gooner FA cups was so blatantly robbed.

CL is anybodies to be honest. United are better than Sevilla, Liverpool, Spurs, Shaktar etc., but that counts for jack. Indeed, if united played their best 10 outfield players winning it would not be undeserved. Problem with this is of course that ain't going to happen. Expect instead a lot of unproductive huff 'n' puff from the likes of rashford, martial and, woe betide me, herrera and lingard

Making the semi finals would be more appropriate discription of, undeserved, success for this squad. But in all honesty, at the moment, getting into next years CL, sorting out the squad, and for jose to start using his proper footballers more regularly is the best we can hope for
