Ritchie, Fraser, Forrest are all better wingers than Robertson
Put Tierney left of a 3 man midfield, he would be good enough to play there

Tierney will do just fine as part of a left 3 at the back. Robertson as the wing back
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or the other way round. Think KT is more effective near the box than Robertson.
----------------- McLaughlin -----------------
Patterson ---- xxx ---- xxx ---- Robertson
----- Cairney - McTominay - Tierney -----
Fraser ---------- McBurnie --------- Ritchie
would like to see McKenna at CB but it will nae doot be Hanley and Mulgrew

My concern is their looks a massive lack of natural ability on the ball from middle to front in that squad

It's not that I think there are better options at CB than Tierney, coz there aint, but I think you lose a lot of what make Tierney so effective if he's having to play at CB, plus Kieren's biggest weakness is his aerial ability.

I'm pretty sure Forrest will play on the right and as much as I like Fraser I don't think we can afford to have so many light weigh players on the pitch at once, that's why I think Robertson on the left wing would be a better option.
If you saw the Edinburgh derby on Friday then you'd understand why Souttar isn't in the squad. Sold himself for the second goal.
McBurnie has been very good at Barnsley and was Championship player of the month for February I believe.
Delighted for Barry Douglas although his opportunities for game time are obviously limited.
Sticking to the Championship theme, I'd expect Cairney to feature in the midfield.
I've seen very little of this McTomminey lad, how good is he and what type of player is he?
Tierney at cb wouldn’t be a bad shout. In midfield I don’t think so as we have other options. Excited by Cairney, Ryan Fraser and mctominay

I'm told he's a Holding midfielder who is composed on the ball. Same ManU fan tells me he's kinda modelled himself on Michael Carrick.
Replacement in the squad for Darren Fletcher then - at best.
Why isn't Boydychenko in the squad? he pronounced himself to be available for selection.
McTominay played well on Saturday, in my opinion.
Why is Paterson listed as a full back? He's been playing central midfield (and scoring goals) since he returned from injury.

Watched McTominay on Saturday. Thought he was OK, but not the world beater the DR would have us believe.
The lad has probably made the right decision in that he's far more likely to get 50 Scotland caps than England caps.
Aye the issue is he gets hyped up because who he plays for, much like what happened with Fletcher.
He done all the simple stuff well, and adds some extra physicality to the midfield which would otherwise be missing, imo.
The worry is that people may think that McTominay may win us games on his own. He's not that type of player at all.
Hopefully he'll do a good job though.
Is there any word on captaincy?
Captaincy
If it isn't KT, then it probably comes down to Martin Mulgrew or Hanley

if only u cared enough to bagsy show
I think it'll be Tierney for captain.
His comments are certainly swaying towards it.
That is a pretty underwhelming selection
Struggled for years
get a new man in
and its the same squad again.
really should ditch everyone over 30 and try to develop for the future
How many uncapped players in the squad? Nine?
Hardly the same squad. Loads of Strachans players haven’t been picked such as Bannan, Anya, snoddy, Mcathur and Chris Martin.
Just a serious lack of striker options.

Tierney will most likely take over as captain from Brown in a year or two so it would make sense to make him Scotland captain.
