Roma's home form

in 16 home league games this season they've lost more matches than Liverpool have in 34 league games.

Bit rubbish

never underestimate the CL, Liverpool lost 14 games in 04/05.

Chelsea lost 10 in 2011/12.

I don't think anyone is underestimating just how dangerous an opponent Roma can be.

Just looking forward to it - it's been a while........

There was someone on Twitter that explained it quite nicely.

Roma has an amazing home form in the CL, where they haven't or rarely conceded...but they do concede a lot of chances at home. They have through all the rounds. So I guess all the hype about Allisson holds some water. Anyway if we can take our chances when we get them, we should be ok...hopefully.

I pray.

I'd rest the front 3, Ox, Van Dijk, Trent and Robertson this week.

Ings, Solanke, Gini, Clyne and Moreno in...maybe even Woodburn.

Klavan in too..

Not sure about that. I watched the game or extended highlights against At Madrid, Chelsea, Kyev and Barca and they were solid as a rock.

I didn't watch but I heard they were using all sorts of dirty tactics against Barca as well

I'm expecting a lot of play acting like the Sevilla team from them...it's what they do.

Just revisited the tweet. It's the Atletico & Chelsea games where they conceded chances.

Barca didn't get a sniff though

Watched Roma last night and they play 3 at the back who never venture forward. They are well organised drilled team and will look to play spoil tactics at Anfield. They seem to have put all there eggs in the CL basket so will be very dangerous.

They have the oil tanker Fazio one of the most rubbish defender I have seen.

We need to isolate him with Mane or Salah running at him.

Reading before that Lucas was trying to do us a favour by flying into the Roma players with his tackles haha

They are probably the toughest test we have had this season in terms of being pressed high.

At Stamford Bridge especially we just couldn't get out and got made to look quite clueless.

We generally do pretty well against pressing teams.

With our pace we can just go longer and exploit the high line they leave.

City are the best pressing team in the PL, and I would wager they are better at it than Roma.

Think well take them apart both home and away.

Fazio is absolute dogsheit, used to get caught under a high ball and makes Robert Huth look like Wayne Sleep.

Your forwards should have an absolute field day against him. He is good at nipping out from the back four and nicking a ball, but if you get him on the turn it is curtains

^If they play a back three, the other two must be pretty mobile?

IMO none of it matters. home form away form. everyone has to play amazing at this level. we have to treat them the same as we would real.

100% effort and intensity.

Anfield will be special.

With a week off I imagine we'll go pretty strong this weekend and then potentially make changes for the Stoke game as it falls in between the two legs.

Caught a bit of the Roma game on the weekend, Manolas went off injured towards the end of the match. Not sure on the severity but could potentially be a doubt for the first leg.

I don’t think it counts for much. They’re riding the crest of a wave and the stadium will be like a cauldron so who knows what Roma will turn up in the second leg.

Our nest hope is to try and put this one to bed in leg 1.
