Yes it does, so long as they have logic, diplomacy and a strategy........everything that Fosun are displaying so chill the feck out and watch as the magic unfolds

Yes I get it brains behind the brawn.

Amiga I think the title Rich owners do not guarantee success is absolutely spot on. Just throwing money at it is foolhardy and has been seen to fail numerous times. Halfy, I think, mentioned the key word - strategy. A strategic plan is essential for success, not just in football but in any major venture. Fosun have demonstrated to the footballing community how an integrated strategy can bring success in football. The right manager with a workable system, the right players, good coaching, incentives to get the fans onboard and of course, the financial back-up as and when required. Fosun have brought a winning formula to WWFC it has taken 2 seasons to implement but I suspect that now the foundations are in place they will go on to build something that we long suffering fans have previously only been able to dream about.

I think what rich does is make more things possible compared to not being rich. If you look at the league positions achieved this season by Burnley, Bournemouth and Watford it’s a fabulous achievement and probably as far as they can go without being rich.

Wolves will still have to perform very well on and off the pitch to do better than those three clubs, but having larger sums of money to invest means the ceiling may well be higher

Could do with that 45,000 capacity stadium first, before wasting all that money on entertaining the fans.

How prophetic. Two things stick out there for me, the way that clubs set up a financial model that relies on them staying in the premier league. Surely if you have the stewardship of the club in your hands you have to, quietly at least, plan to finish bottom and work up from there. It doesn't mean you dont have ambition or take a calculated risk or two, but you cant simply rely on the Sky money to keep you afloat. Thats one thing at least we can be thankful to Moxey for.

The other thing is the buying of players with poor resale values, we did start to fall in to that cycle, but with one or two exceptions, we have signed players who have increased their profile and value over the last two seasons, quite significantly in some cases.

Aren't Bournemouth bankrolled by a rich Russian & Watford owned by rich Italians who also own other clubs? Bournemouth appear to be using the consolidate before build approach which I think we will also do

Surely the key for Wolves is the Chinese market, if we can tap into that our revenue stream could explode.

We certainly have the connections.

Fosun stated that they wanted promotion within 3 years. With he right manager, players and resources, they've done it in two. That alone is some achievement.

How we go forward and tap into the vast monetary rewards is going to be the key to our success. I agree with the OP in that the commercial side to our club can be enormous, especially if we can tap into the Chinese market. Sky money alone will only cover part of the expenses needed to move forward and be a potential threat to the top six clubs.

Im not sure that having Chinese owners will be enough in itself to get us tapped in to that market, will help a bit for sure, but we wont see Chinese kids chucking away their Liverpool & Man United shirts to make room in the wardrobe for ours unless we start to out perform them on the pitch.

For sure Oldgold, we need to perform on the pitch to keep this train rolling, if we do there is a load of potential for us in China, and could be what sustains us with the best in the league.

Big ask still.

Should be good for a few shirt sales don't you think?

When you consider that Fosun are the largest non-state owned company in China they obviously have enormous influence in that country. With a population of 1.4 billion all Fosun have to do is reach out to 0.01% of the population to create another 1,400,000 Wolves fans

Well that all went horribly wrong! Maybe something to do with the amount of beer and wine consumed after working all day in the sun
I'll try again:

To attract 30,000 to secure tickets in less than an hour is quite incredible. All debates about whether we need to expand our stadium are over really, just a matter of how big we aim for and how quickly

The mad world of footballers pay typified in the contract Ross McCormack has at Villa which means if they are promoted he will get a £1m bonus even though he hasn’t played a single game

Considering folks were able to get 4 tickets per enquiry, that leaves around 7,500-10,000 fans applying. I'm sure it'll be a family event and people will be taking their families to celebrate. Not sure all those going to this event actually go to games, so 10,000-15,000 aren't exactly going to fill a stadium.
