Um, Disney on the slide?
Dunno.. I mean they have had dodgy patches before, but usually bounce back. The worst it ever was for them was the late 70’s and most of the 80’s.
The man that owns Portsmouth FC, Michael Eisner was the saviour of the House of Mouse.
Today all the talk is of Bob Iger, and while he made great business decisions, Eisner was the one that got Disney out the brink of ruin… although, he did do his best to screw it all up as well, towards the end of his run.
But Disney is healthy. They can take a few flops here and there it won’t cripple them. Just be embarrassing.
They got smart and talented people, and they’ll figure it out.

I need to know when we're getting the much anticipated Morbius vs Joker movie we've all been waiting for, where the great Jared Leto will be able to play both roles.

Disney have been taking massive hits in recent times in terms of profits, share prices and people unsubscribing to Disney plus.

As in says in the article: "In the last two years, Disney’s share price has fallen fifty per cent, from an all-time high of almost $200 per share in March 2021 to $110 last month. It reached a seven-year low during the final quarter of 2022, finishing the year trading at just $86 per share".

That would be amazing to see the same actor get voted for Worst Actor and Worst supporting Actor, from the same film!!
That would be super meta..
and then have Jared Leto come out on stage to present the Award..to himself,

Guess a good time to buy Disney stock.
Movies alone, they got F4 and X-Men to come.
Little Mermaid is gonna be a hit.
In regards to the Parks, yeh, some sound decision making needs to be done. But overall, it is a good decision to slow everything down… they just got too greedy.

Yeah possibly although I've seen a lot of people putting faith in F4 which has already had two failed live action iterations and never done big numbers. And as long as Kathleen Kennedy is head of Lucasfilm I don't see future Star Wars movies doing the sort of numbers they should. So that arm of Disney is getting weighed down still.

Tbf those were done by Fox and Marvel had a good track record pre-phase 4. Bit more concerned how it's going to turn out these days though.

Well, Kennedy I was hoping would go by June, but looks like it will be 2025. They’ll get Star Wars back on track. I don’t know if she’s just stubborn or actually really cares.
I mean as of right now, under her leadership, the Star Wars shows look like they are hitting their stride.
Andor - Mando - Bad Batch.
She is still widely respected. Spielberg was saying the other day, that she was integral to getting Schindlers List made… though Katie Sackhoff was saying Kennedy had done a great job for the Star Wars franchise.

Could Kennedy be starting to turn things around?

With her force is female propoganda and how every white male has to be a bad guy or an idiot. Probably not lol. The limited amount of good stuff that has come out of Lucasfilm under Disney has had more to do with people like Favreau.

Personally I'm amazed Kennedy is still in a job. Star Wars has for the most part been a disaster under her watch. So bad that they stopped releasing movies because of the diminishing returns and fan reaction. Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker should have been monster hits, these were the direct sequels to the beloved original Star Wars trilogy that changed cinema as we know it. They should have done Avatar numbers.

Yeh, hard not to agree there.
I do believe that a major mistake they made, when they rushed to release for Dec 2015. Was that, they didn’t give themselves time to innovate.
As said, Star Wars movies were always Industry game changers… but there was nothing in the new movies.

Maybe they should’ve attempted Avatar 3D immersion.
Could you imagine?

Tbh I have so many issues with the Disney trilogy it's difficult to know where to begin, I could write a book on it quite easily. But one of the biggest crimes will always be how they treated the original trio characters and not put them onscreen together when they had the chance.

Particularly their treatment of Luke Skywalker who should have been the heart and soul of the new trilogy but was cast aside and turned into a joke character that bore little resemblance to the Luke we knew and loved in the original movies. Jake Skywalker. And poor old Mark Hamill disagreed entirely with every decision they made for Luke. I'm surprised he agreed to be in it.

I mean they could have made Luke the villain of the trilogy, made him turn to the dark side like his Father did. Just about anything would have been better than what we got in my opinion. And bringing back the Emperor so that Rey has a grandad was preposterous. I'm sure we could have come up with a better story arc for the trilogy on this thread in less than five minutes.

I agree with Superb tbh, superhero movies are pretty formulaic so if you're churning them out for a long amount of time at high volume they need to be keeping the quality high, which DC have never done and Marvel are struggling to do at the moment. Unless they can turn things around the box office numbers will continue to drop, which will surely lead to smaller budgets and worse films and so on and so on?

Star Wars currently in the midst of a high point, but they've been very all over the place and with projects being announced but then cancelled or paused I still don't exactly know what their plan is, if any, outside of the TV stuff Favreau and Filoni are doing.

Although as a Jake, I don't appreciate Jake Skywalker in this context

New World Order with Harrison Ford as the bad guy... that’s gonna put bums on seats for sure.
