Should the thread be renamed Marvel/DC Cinematic Universe ?

Already talk of an oscar nom for Joaquin Phoenix too. Top actor and I'm looking forward to seeing his joker.

Still taking the positive reaction with a pinch of salt for now - I remember some early reviews hailing Batman v Superman as a masterpiece. This is encouraging though.

Yep that's exactly how I've been feeling about it. Facked off.

MCU feels a lot emptier without Spidey, Cap, Iron Man. At least until the likes of the F4 arrive.

Yep the venomverse they are hoping will take off by including Spider-Man in it eventually will be a poor mcu.

They’ve got millions of fans that will pay to go and watch anything the release regardless of it being good or not, so they’ll be okay.

In the short term it's going to scupper some of Marvels plans but they have the X men ad F4 coming so in the long term, they will be fine.

Yea it’s not the mcu I’m worried about it’s how Sony will mess up Spider-Man just as he was coming of age in the mcu.

I’m hoping xmen will be set in a different multiverse and not in our current one.

Keeping it separate but with the ability to travel between both will keep it interesting but easy to follow

F4 done well has the potential to take the MCU to new heights. Note, when you bring in F4, you also bring in arguably two of Marvel's greatest villains in Dr Doom and Galactus. You also get to incorporate the Silver Surfer who is one of my favourite marvel characters. Just like the X men, it's the universe the villains these characters bring into the MCU, not just their individual presence.

This.

My main interest in the F4 is seeing the likes of Dr Doom and Galactus done properly. Both could be viable candidates for the next major MCU villain.

I also wonder if Avengers Tower is going to become the MCU's Baxter Building at some point.

I think it was going to be Oscorp before they pulled Spider-Man out

Spot on you can’t bring the xmen in now and expect fans to believe they was around all the time.

Having them in separate universes gives them the creative freedom to start it how they want with out being hamstrung by what’s already happened.

Have a couple phases building up to say phase 6 secret wars huge event.

Agree it won’t happen and they’ll be a lazy they’ve always been around in the background rubbish
