10 year report:
No trophies.
The end.
Player of the year - Spurs, Jan, Anyone else, Salah
Game of the season, beating Chelsea, Anyone else - Huddersfield beating United
Moment of the season, seeing West Ham lose any game
Flop of the season, Aurier and Sissoko
The Robbie Savage Award for Worst Pundit, Anyone with the name Owen in it, and Chris Sutton
Chump of the season, Aurier
Team of the season, Burnley
Cant argue with any of that.... all done while adjusting to Wembley !!! The concern is where we go from here. Given our resources I just don't see anything more from next season. I think we are at our ceiling under our current structure
If you'd have said, at the start of the season, that we'd beat Real Madrid and Dortmund, win at Stamford Bridge for the first time in a stupid number of years, beat Liverpool, Arsenal and United at Wembley, and run Juventus mighty close in the last 16 of the Champions League I think I'd have been pretty happy with that. The lack of a trophy is still a stick with which to beat this young team and Poch, but even if it doesn't come it's still a pleasure (more often than not) to watch this determined young side play - a Spurs team that very rarely lets you down and is capable of going on incredible unbeaten runs and pulling off big results. It doesn't feel right sometimes, but it's great to watch.

This. Particularly the "doesn't feel right" part. So true
Player of the season - Eriksen
Game of the season - RM at Wembleh
Moment of the season - Eriksen 3-0 or Kane smashing the years goals record in style
Flop of the season - Comfortably Llorente
Worst pundit - Gerrard has come on leaps and bounds in pure sheitness this season, please snatch him up Rangers
Chump of the season - THudd
Team of the season - Man City. Manager of the season should go to Benitez or Dyche though

Yes, Benitez has worked small miracles on a tight budget with a largely Championship side. So, too, have Wagner and Chris Hughton.
Dyche has done a brilliant job, and Burnley have been superb, so I hope he gets some recognition.
Had forgotten about Llorente, which probably says it all. He has been a major disappointment, given his pedigree and his performances last season.
Llorente was never going to be a star at the club, not considered him a chump or flop, just a stop gap
Well he flopped at a stop gap
Correct me if I am wrong, but do we not have 3 more games before the end of the season?

Great article this, I like the positivity. You're right, there are some real achievements this year.
Llorente was definitely the flop of the year. Sissoko I thought was mostly good, or at least a lot better than last year.
Pep is manager of the year for me, you don't create a team that good without being an excellent coach.
Benitez a close second - with the exception of one or two, that's a championship squad.

I think quite a few of those early iffy results at Wembley will be wins at the new WHL so I'm quietly confident that we will get more points next season. Whether we will get enough to be anywhere near City I'm less certain of.

Great article, and well timed as quite a few Spurs fans seem to be viewing the season as a whole negatively due to the recent defeats by Juve/United and failing to look at how we've done objectively. I see fans, our own and fans of other teams, constantly bringing up the lack of a trophy. The fact is there are 5 teams who, by sheer pulling power of previous recent success, money, or a combination of both, should all arguably much better equipped than us to fight for the title, the CL places and the cups. In the last 2 seasons (15/16 and 16/17), only 2 of those teams have finished above us. Arsenal crept in on the last day, and Chelsea won the league with a record number of wins. The other was Leicester.
That, in itself, is quite ridiculous. We arecompeting with teams who regularly spend £50, £60, £70, even £90 million pounds on single players, and that is without even going into the wages they pay compared to us. Yet, here we are again, set to potentially finish above 3 of those clubs, having had to play at Wembley which, I'm sure if anyone could be bothered, you could find a multitude of comments on here last pre season from rival fans stating that would be our downfall this season. We've done immensely well to, by the looks of things, get ourselves into the CL ahead of some of these clubs for a 3rd season running. Obviously, there is more progress to be made now, but that is for a different article.
As a side note, let's just say United lost the FA Cup Final. That would mean that they have achieved exactly what we did last season, spending god knows how much more. Finishing 2nd like we did, getting to the last 16 of the CL (1 round further than us) and getting to the FA Cup Final (1 round further than us). Hell, even if they win the FA Cup, would their season be that much better than ours last season? Again, remember, having spent so much more. LVG got sacked having won the FA Cup just days ago if I remember correctly. The league really is the bread and butter, which is why we are rightly getting praised.
Aurier getting quite a few votes here

Considering he has gone through the effort and wrote out an articulate article (a rarity on this board) I really don't get why people post comments like this.
Very much in the camp of, if you don't like it, don't comment. Unless you think he would write something drastically different in three weeks time?

Looks like spurs have gone backwards this season in the PL. What do you attribute to that? Injury to alderweireld?
I wouldn't say necessarily backwards - more stagnated than anything.
Our two main midfielders haven't been performing like they did last season. We sold the best RB in the league. Alderweirled has also been a big miss.
I meant in terms of points Edin I think last year you got 86.
And when did you sell valencia?...
But yeah I guess we have stagnated a little as well. Another big factor is Wembley, took us like 3 games to get used to it - which could have cost us like 5-7 points this season.
We also achieved higher in cup competitions which balances it out which is why I mean stagnated.
