America, America.FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. My wife's Facebook feed is continually filled with photos of someone taking their five year old out on their first hunt with their first shotgun
On holiday to see her folks we would always pass a place called Gary's Pawn & Gun. I remember a big sign up saying CHRISTMAS FIREARMS SALE!!!
Because nothing says Christmas like a firearms sale.
I actually went in to see if they had any music stuff and they said they stopped selling instruments so they could carry more guns.
ffs
"tradition"
thats all we need, deadly weapons in the hands of morons.
see when u see pictures of them posing with a dead giraffe or something, what a challege that must have been btw, huge animal standing still eatin its lunch
what an achievement.
whanks.

giraffes are big n sound though
he's no
All they need to do to at least make a start is to ban assault rifles because, you know, you shouldn't actually need assault rifles.
Bit naw
In saying that I'm away over to Texas in three weeks to meet all this family that are like the uncle in Terminator 2 with the underground vault full of killing machines.
I don't think trying to reason with them is a good idea

If religious people were reasonable, then there would be no religion .... same goes for yankee gun owners, quite literally cannot see the wood for the trees.
outta curiosity :
If we were able to would you own a gun?
I assume I would. I wouldnt own one right away for "protection", but I would defo own like a hunting rifle. As keen fisherman I am all over Scotland and I often think it would be great to hunt in some of the places I have been. I also find them quite intriguing as do most people.
I also concede that if everyone had a gun and we were like the states in terms of gun crime then yeah I would no doubt end up buying a pistol or something for the house.
That being said I do think the gun laws in USA are crazy and hope that never makes it over here (i strongly think it wont) I cannot justify my small amount of pleasure over the pain and trouble it would bring to the masses.

Probably not. I barely trust myself to turn off a tap fully. No chance should I be allowed anything more powerful than a tin opener
Delboy
Ive fished for near on 40 years and never thought I wished I had any gun, apart from fishing the snake river in Idaho 1979,a brown bearn got rather close and never blinked when we tried to move it on by chucking bricks at it Our neighbours and their kids all had hunting rifles, one even had a mini cannon that was rolled out and fired on the 4th of July,me tho,I was happy with a hook and bait hahaha.
Miller
Wan of them big guns mate, aka the tim opener!
Some rumour this eh lads, only in the world of ja606
As much as I'm drawn towards shootin stuff I wouldn't want a gun. My wife had a gun for years and had to threaten intruders a few times.
Too many guns freely available
Massive drug problems nationwide
Hug mental health problems in that they don't give a f@ck unless you've got fantastic insurance, and sometimes that doesn't matter either
Distrust of the government (which was the reason for the 2nd amendment)
The NRA plus Smith & Weston being incredibly powerful
Lack of adequate education
Racism
Those are just some of the long running causes of America's gun problem.
